Your cookies are developed to include anything you interact with, to include viewing or expanding comments. Some data mining software has the ability to detect how long you linger over content as well. So if that comment was within the readable portion of your screen, it logged it as something that interested you. Its not smart enough to know why it interested you. It just knows that you looked at the content for an extended period of time. Thats why I can type Tide Pods here and you end seeing an ad for Tide Pods. Fuck, Im going to see them now.

The Showtime and MAX app have soft core porn movies on them, and they arent hidden behind age restrictions.

They also have a ton of programming for children.

I wouldnt consider either of those apps Adult Sites.

If you dont want see it, dont watch it. If you dont want your kids seeing it, do a better job at monitoring what they have access to.

My feed is full of true life crime, anime, video games and law. And the occasional 80s-00s top music countdowns. Ill prob get a see through clothing vid recommendation because I looked it up after this topic, but Im sure itll go away after a week or so.

Based on your own arguments it would be perfectly fine to set up an adult store right next to a children's playground otherwise it would be censorship or anti consumer choice.

If the municipality is fine with it and no zoning laws prohibit it, there isnt much I can do. And just like filters, it doesnt mean much when these adult stores have blacked out windows and dont openly display their wares to the general public. The kids dont even know whats in them unless they go looking. Just like you went looking for porn on YouTube for some reason.

I'm not sure why you need to push adult content everywhere to be anti-censorship.

and YouTube is one of those choices. If you dont like it, dont use the site. YouTube Kids will meet all of your needs for content.

Theres no reason for it to not. If you dont want to watch it, then dont. I get suggestions that dont fit my tastes all the time. I click not interested and I dont see that content anymore. If youre seeing it after telling it you dont want to, its because youve invested a lot of time watching it, which is very telling.

YouTube isnt aimed at kids. YouTube Kids is aimed at kids. YouTube is aimed at all viewers. Its on the viewer to decide what content they want for themselves and their kids.

It is most definitely not "easier" given how versatile and readily available and workarounds available to view content.

If what BlueTigerLion said is true, the people advocating this type of content absolutely needs to be readily available on YouTube, are exactly the type of disingenuous people I'm talking about.

It's disingenuous to act like normal YouTube is for adults when it (the non Kids YouTube) is most definitely aimed at children as well. As normal YouTube is literally not hidden by an age consent wall.

They should've been a subscription from the start, is probably what should've happened, but all of these companies do that thing where they run at a loss until all their competition is gone first. No other company could've absorbed the losses Google did to keep that afloat.

A tangent, but I've seen more fucked up stuff in the "kids" section than just browsing normally. There's a whole niche culture of making the most fucked up thing you can figure and disguising it as kid friendly. Fucking, Sonic family abuse series. I think it got taken down, but youtube's track record with that sort of thing is spotty.

If it got taken down, the system worked as intended.

They should prob be using YouTube Kids. And parents should set appropriate filters. And if you believe the target audiences for fishnet dresses are kids and teens, you should turn yourself in.
