uh, restaurants already do schedule more people for busier times. there's no way you're going into a busy fast food restaurant during lunch and they only have 3-4 people working like they do during slower times. but because of labor laws they can't hire people just to work from 11-2, so they have to give them full shifts in which they're not really needed for the other 4-6 hours

These fast food places run lean during times that are busy to make up for time when they are slow. While the hour-to-hour labor-to-revenue ratio is high during slow times, the overall labor is low for the day because they dont schedule more people when its busy.

During busy times, they make far more in revenue than they expend in additional labor costs. This isnt to offset labor costs in the least. This is pure opportunistic profit. At Taco Bell, we could clear about $3,000 during a lunch rush, with maybe $400 in labor costs. Im being generous. Lets assume in 2005, everyone made $12/hr, with 10 people during a 3 hour lunch rush. Thats still only $360.

And before you ask, I worked at Taco Bell from 16 to 18 years old.

Democrats keeping putting forward candidates leftists generally dislike. And theyll keep doing it because they know they have the moral high ground, and that their constituents will show up to oppose conservative evil.

However, many leftists are just fine with showing Dem leadership that they will let them lose this election if they will not put forward candidates who actually represent them.

Its the only real way to force Dem leadership to take them seriously. If not, well just keep doing the whole hey guys just vote for this person just this once and well give you what you want in four years. It has to stop.

Is it a destructive tactic in the short run? Yes. But maybe after 2028, Dem leadership will respect the will of their constituents.
