I don't really see what you're getting at other than being incredibly pedantic. If someone offers you money in return to satisfy a sexual fantasy, you'd be considered an escort under most definitions, even legal ones.

Escorts often don't do anything physical at all, for that matter.

Sadly Rowling and co have convinced a considerable amount of people that trans people are just men dressing up as women for the primary purpose of raping people. It's a fucking wild timeline we live in.

Even taking aside the sheer transphobia of it, the hilarity of worrying about your sexual dignity in hospital seems so removed from what hospitals are actually like. You're butt naked a lot of the time, nurses of any gender are examing and wiping your bits, you're soiling yourself, you're pissing your pants, you're struggling to so much as walk without someone helping you...

but yes let's focus on the big issues, facepalm.

For some levels of wealth, that is literally what it would feel like to get an escort.

But I think if you are fuck-off wealthy then stuff like this is just a kind of power play. It's a trifling amount of money to you and you have a specific kink, so you have the power to get hot women involved to indulge it. The good thing is it's just 1 set of hell. I know of some routines like Deep Water that are a sustained effort of torment (10 sets of 10 reps), but once you've done the single squat set for that session, your other exercises almost come as a relief.

After the 20 reps, you're supposed to take a light weight (15-20 lbs) and lie down on the bench to do 20 pull-overs. It's an old school idea to further stretch out the ribcage after doing so from the deep breaths during the squat set (bodybuilders back in the day were big about working the "rib box"). Being able to lie down after those squats feels like a reprieve from death.

I get a weird enjoyment in learning about the "wisdom" of old school lifters. Like so much of it worked because those dudes were just hard as fuck, regardless of what their justifications were.

Yesterday I saw this clip of Kirk Karwoski putting an entire can of beer in his protein shake and the guy behind the camera confidently saying that it's better for you than milk. Motherfucker could squat 1000lbs for a double and really thought it was the beer. Incredible.

I played FFX back in 02/03, and for various reasons didn't like it. I don't remember how far I got, but it was at least to the Blitzball tournament. I won the first game or the tournament or whatever and my friend was shocked. He didn't think you could win it.

This is unironically one of the hardest things to do in the entire game, significantly hindered by RNG mechanics. It's pretty impressive that you won it.

It's a really stupid way for them to introduce blitzball because it makes you want to never play it again, which is a bit of a shame because it's way easier later on and more fun.

The Sphere Grid still annoys me. I can see ability spheres are going to be a bottleneck. Anywhere I'll be able to farm these?

Yeah those become really easy to farm. You have 3 methods:
1) an attack skill that lets you hit an enemy and steal an ability sphere after winning the fight.
2) a weapon attribute you can customise onto a weapon - you get an ability sphere everytime you attack
3) a late game hack against a particular enemy that lets you pick up 99 in a single fight.

It's really only a concern very early on. You'll end up picking up plenty later on.

Other than that, I'm concerned about missables. I looked up a list and thankfully there don't seem to be many. I did get the staff from the Cloister of Trials before Yuna joined.

The main missables you want to be concerned about are the secret chests in each cloiser of trials. You can get them way later on but they are gatekeeped by some of the hardest post-game bosses in the game.

That's a huge part of it. It just teaches you a lot about effort, digging deep, etc. But aside from that, 20-rep squats are just a fantastic way to build leg mass and raise your squat up. I broke through a plateau using it.

I'm not one of those people who say you HAVE to do a certain something to see results, especially when it comes to the 3 powerlifts if you're not a powerlifter, but I highly recommend it as a program.

I like the sound of it. Gonna milk GZCLP for a while and once that starts drying up I'll run super squats at some point. I guess I actually enjoy how hard squats are...

Fitness AI...

I can potentially see some utlity for people who genuinely need to min-max their training variables. This is not 99% of people. There is a specific market out there of smart people who think that training is complex and that "optimal" routine or diet is a thing you can read. These people are forever changing from app to gadget to whatever new science-based marketing trend forever looking for something that will help them avoid genuine effort and consistent work.

I.e. fitness AI is a meme and will inevitably be picked up by the forever-weaks who think that the body is some code you can hack, rather than a long term project you need to build.

That works great until you realize that most banks are going to give you something like a 0.1% interest rate on a savings account with only 10K in it. You could maybe get two or three percent if you locked it into a cd for a few years, but for the sake of your estimate it might be better to say that you put that 10K into an indexed fund on the stock market.

Things seem to work differently in America. Interest free savings accounts here are currently offering between 4.5% and 5.2% with a minimum of 500.

(topic 3 about how much I hate cars and how stupid they are to buy)

Andy is 20 years old and the the car he wants is 15k. He has 10k in the bank. He reasons that he can put down 10k as a deposit, get a 5k loan and still save around $800 per month while paying it back. He's 20 and lives at home, what does it matter if he spends all his savings on a car m i rite

- 10k down on car (cash)
- 5k loan at 10.0% interest, 5 year term
- 105 per month in car repayments
- $800~ a month in a 2% savings account.

After 5 years:
+ car worth about 5k trade in value (- $1300 in loan interest paid over that time)
+ $50k in his bank

Alternatively, Andy doesn't buy the car. He puts that $10k in savings instead.

- 10k into a 5.19% interest-free savings account
- saves 900 a month into same savings account

After 5 years
+ 74k in his bank

$25k difference. Now if he still wanted that car, he could buy for cash and still have $14k leftover.

Or he just does the same again for another 5 years. Now he has $160k to play with.

Topic is based on the dubious premise of steady high interest rates and never needing a car, to keep things simple

I've done all three in my life:

  1. Miner in australia, earning a 6 figure salary with all travel, expenses and accommodation paid for. Working 12 hour days, 7 days a week, shifting bags of cement in the australian desert
  2. Campaign manager for a marketing start up, managing 50+ campaigns across 30 client accounts, basically stealing customer money and dealing with their phone calls every day. 60+ hours of mental hell
  3. Current job - software consultant for a software dev company. Cruisiest job I've ever had. 38 hours a week, always leave on time, 1 hour for lunch, virtually no KPIs, management is very easy going. About half the paycheck of the first two.
If I could go back to my early 20s I would work the first job again and this time be really sensible with my money. If I was financially literate back then I could be set for life now. I don't think I could do that job now, too physically taxing and not stimulating enough.

I would never take the second job again. Worst job I've ever had. Paid decently and I got to live in the city, but the anxiety was overwhelming every day.

My current job is pretty good. pay could obviously be better, but I never feel stressed about going to work and that is invaluable.
