America's public schools are terrible, but it's broadly true of public education across the world. The US is supposedly a bit worse than other nations, but we also have massive teachers unions suppressing innovation and subverting education whenever it benefits them financially or makes their jobs a little easier. It's an amazing system if you're a teacher, a kinda lousy one for students.

Then you have sub-issues like America subsidizing the rest of the world's textbooks, since we pay a lot more (and iirc it's even worse at the college level, although people are more likely to notice that because they're the ones paying for it)

You do know that defund the police doesn't mean get rid if them. Republicans have been defunding the schools for years now, that's what they want for the police. They don't want over bloated police budget that they have military vehicles(some police stations have flat out Strikers, which are current military vehicles, while others have older military vehicles), and unlimited power to do whatever the fuck they want.

specifically in the dungeons and combat compared to 4 and 3 im speaking, I've really always hated the persona style twists on SMT gameplay (1 & 2 are no exception) but p5 is by far the best version of combat and dungeon crawling in this style I think

Gotta say, the social stuff was way funnier than the dungeon crawling in P3FES. Is it the same, or did they make the combat so much better that it's not a problem anymore?

They take what already exists and do it better. Uniqueness isnt there thing.

How do they do it better? They use shitty parts from shitty companies like Foxconn, restrict usability(taking out removable batteries, headphone jack, etc...), restrict customization, and admitted to slowing down older phones when the new ones come out. The only reason they're still in business is because of stupid people buying their phones just because they're shiny and they think the phones are premium just because they charge premium prices.

I'm playing through the storymode in the first game, and it's pretty bad. The fact that they took out one of the kick buttons just sucks ass. MK was never a super deep game, but the fact that one of the kick buttons changed into a gadget/super power button did the game no favors.

I was actually kind of having fun with MK10, and even played a bunch of the ranked mode, but I think I'll just finish the storymode of Injustice real quick and shelve it.

I could care less is usually with a dismissive and trailing off tone and a shrug to imply sure I could care less but not by much. I may care a tiny bit, but not enough to really matter.

An M14 has an effective range of 500 meters but you don't see everyone and their dog using one. 5.56 is an intermediate round, it is for middle distance combat i.e. 200m+, at close range it overpenetrates and that means a less lethal wound.

A pistol is made for short distance, say shouting distance, in this range it doesn't overpenetrate so it cavitates creating a larger wound. Pistol bullets are fatter, they make a bigger hole, rifle rounds are flatter and slip through with less damage if they don't have time to shed some speed.

That's if the guy was even able to hit. The max effective range for the average pistol is 91 meters, but that's for a skilled shooter. Most average shooters can get max effective range of 45 meters.
