Static was really popular. I'm sure a lot of the reason is because you just don't see him anymore. I could barely go twenty feet without getting complimented or asked for a photo.

I also kinda made buddies with a Flash, which felt really cool somehow. And I saw a guy wearing one of those Ahegao shirts and we joked a bit over it.

I didn't check out the Japanese bands this year; it seems like we only ever get visual kei or pop groups. But we also had a great local band that I liked, and I picked up a CD by the pillows. (Also found out the pillows are currently doing a US tour; I wish I could have gone.) Next year we're going to have Senanan, and ice with hyu-ga (hyu-ga was here before, with a different group).

I haven't done much gym activity lately because I was at a convention over the weekend. There was actually a gym at the convention, but being Instinct I didn't even bother trying to get it, because the Valors and Mystics would swarm in literally within seconds.

I don't know if Keijo counts as sports, shounen, or both, but it really hooked me.

Other than that I don't think I've checked out many sports series. I liked Hikaru no Go (essentially a sports series), Bamboo Blade, and One Pound Gospel.

I do believe in ignoring trolls, primarily because there's really not much else you can do, other than reporting any posts that are against the rules. Regardless of the number of people you get to fight with you, or even because of it, trolls don't walk away. Because they just want attention and to ruffle feathers, which they're clearly succeeding at if someone is arguing with them.

You can't make them stop posting, you can't ban them unless you're in charge of the forum, and you can't force them to play nice. The only real option is to show them that their efforts will not be given the attention they seek, by ignoring it entirely.

I gotta let my pervert flag fly for a moment; I'm disappointed they didn't bring back the Lip Synch Battle this year. The event itself is fun enough - but nowhere else in the world will you see anime, comic and other characters singing, dancing, and dropping it like it's hot. Seeing a Tatsumaki cosplayer doing it last year is kinda.. stapled in my memory.

Well I don't have the same problem I had with my last two cosplays; that nobody recognized who I was. I've gotten a ton of compliments in the short time I've been in costume. (Though one person mistook me for Black Lightning.)

I also recognize for the first time the hassle of frequently being asked to pose for a photo. It's not even that I mind doing it; just that I have to take my glove off to use my phone, then back on for a picture, then back off again for the phone..

The longest I've ever held a gym was six and a half days. It was a relatively remote location; I didn't think anyone was there but in just the moment it took me to drop off a Pokemon, someone showed up and shooed me off the property. I must not have been the only one to get that treatment, because my defender held down the place alone for six days.

I love cam whores.

I stumbled on a manga called Uwagaki and started on it. There's this guy who likes his classmate, but she doesn't like him and already has a boyfriend. Their teacher pops up out of nowhere and says he wants to know if she would fall for her guy if she wasn't already dating someone, and with no warning or explanation, suddenly makes a clone of the girl on the spot.

He wipes the clone's mind of all memories of the boyfriend, and tells the guy and the clone to start spending time together as an experiment. After a certain time period, he would merge the two girls and their memories together again, and who she decides to date would be dependent on whoever she had stronger feelings for; the guy or the boyfriend.

It's weird, but funny, and pretty good. There's also a goat.

Earlier today there was a woman trying to drive through a narrow loading area for store deliveries, and she got upset because there was a truck blocking the end. Actually tried to get them to move for her.

Monster Tale was fun, but that was one of its flaws.

I don't know about enemy scaling (or not too much anyway); one thing I enjoy about games is feeling just how much stronger/better I've gotten over time, and if all the enemies stay near your level then you don't really see that effect.

I can't think of anything in particular that I dislike.

To add to Far-Queue's suggestion, one way to break up the potential monotony of backtracking is to have a semi-powerful enemy that has a small random chance of appearing in any previously visited area. You could tie it into the story; have a miniboss that holds a grudge against the hero or something.

Well there was always a slight chance they just didn't realize what they were doing.

But no, there was clearly malicious intent here. The same trainer was still there today, and there were two of them ("Ox King" and "Ox King's Wife"; probably just an alt but it doesn't matter). And just for extra lulz, they threw in a Caterpie, and another Ditto to match mine.

I don't hold grudges often, but they just made an enemy. I'm making it my mission to kick them out every chance I get.

Fuck's sake, man. You don't take over a gym minutes before midnight. You just don't.

I was checking up on my last defender, then just a minute or two afterward it said he needed a berry. All the other gym defenders were gone, and mine was on his last legs. I stubbornly Golden Razz'd him as much as I could, but they only held out until just before 12:00.

That's some bullshit, man. If they had just attacked a few minutes later I wouldn't have cared at all.
