I won't use it but if it helps others get into the game then there's no reason not to include it.
The games are tough for newcomers, let them get used to it on rookie mode and hopefully they'll want to play regular once they master that mode

Seriously? I think this is a little overboard because the first game is incredibly easy and the second isn't tough either. It's been a long time since I played the rest. I'd say X is easier than the original series because of additions like the dash and wall climb giving you more options to dodge.

Maybe it's just me though. I own the entire series and completed them all except for the later X games when they got crappy. This includes 9, 10, and the Legends spinoff.

Keep in mind there are people with physical and/or mental issues that prevent them from enjoying difficult games without special hardware or software.

This is an excellent way to rerelease old games and have a wider appeal.

I urge you to try normally first. Most of the X games aren't that hard in my opinion, especially if you follow an easier progression of stages.

That said options are great!

Someone was saying on the Steam boards that MMX3 PC had a hard mode in its original release. Hopefully they offer that too.

What I don't like is that they got rid of the Guns n' Roses Maverick names in X5.

It is interesting seeing support for the old names. Localization based on your husband's favorite band isn't very professional even if no harm was done.

Whatever works for you. I can advise to change dash to R1/right shoulder immediately. It is more comfortable to use and way easier to do so effectively like that in my opinion.

This won't change anything for me, as I'm always a Normal Mode guy.

That said, I'm pretty sure X Challenge won't have a true difficulty setting. Just courses.

X5's Maverick names were great and the fact that they ruined this is appalling to me. Thankfully I have my PS1 copy, plus the digital version for my Vita, so I do not have to suffer this injustice.
