Can't believe it has been four years...

Definitely a nice guy. And his comics were seriously funny shit. His potd stuff was obviously only funny to us. But his other stuff was pretty great. It would be nice to know whatever ended up happening to him.

It's a really sad and horrifying theory that some troublemakers here have come up with. I don't think it's true despite him suffering from pretty major depression. After his comics stopped, he was on PotD and other GFaqs message boards until about Spring 2015 when he abruptly closed his GameFAQs account.

I think he just slowly weaned himself off of the internet and wanted to keep a lower profile.

^He could pop in one time to let people know how he's doing. We're not exactly strangers.

I don't like saying it, but if he hasn't made an online presence once in several years, we definitely can't rule it out.

Feel free to call me a piece of shit or whatever, but I don't understand PotD's obsession with this guy. He didn't even post here for that long; people who posted a lot more leave all the time. It's understandable people are concerned because of the suicide rumors, but I swear this comes up like every other month. The results are always that nobody has heard anything new, then everyone doubles down on the rumors. I hope he's okay and that if anybody hears from him, they'll post it, but why keep asking and fueling the speculation?

Let's back up a bit, does anybody even remember how these rumors started in the first place? Because he was depressed and people stopped hearing from him? Again, that could describe dozens of PotDers. If there's a more credible basis for the rumors, I apologize, but I don't think we really have that good of a reason to believe he did it. And yeah, a lot of people say it now, but that's because they're piggybacking the original rumor.

Personally I feel like him closing/deleting a bunch of his accounts is more of a reason to believe he didn't kill himself than the other way around.

Cutting yourself off from your usual social circles/outlets makes following through with those sort of ideas easier.

That's true, but I was thinking if somebody decided to follow through with those ideas, they wouldn't really have any need to cut off their communication... kind of two different ways of looking at a similar thought process.

And for all we know maybe he cut himself off to prevent himself from following through. I know he was generally well-liked here but maybe he had reasons we didn't know about. He had low self-esteem so it's possible he didn't realize his popularity. Or maybe he just generally disliked how people acted here, even if he didn't personally have a problem with anyone. Maybe he had issues on another site and decide to just scrub all of his internet presence. Maybe he was uneasy with the thought of other random users providing him advice for depression. Or he could've even just felt like he was wasting his time - I've closed my accounts for that reason before.

And what happened to Shenti? People joke around about him dying but I think that's pretty fucked up, even if he was a big jerk. Though sometimes I can't tell which ones are jokes and which are people who actually think he died.

I'd imagine Shenti is more likely to be homeless than dead. People made a big deal about how he was running out of money but you don't just drop dead the moment you go broke. Homeless people who are much older and in worse shape than him can spend many years making it on the streets.

Plus there wasn't anything on his (very public) Facebook about it, and I couldn't find an obituary in the OKC area.
