I own/manage three territories for Flowers Baking Co.. I bought my first route in 2014, when I was 28, and in the beginning of 2017, the company allowed us to not only incorporate (which the other competitors were already doing with their distributors) but gave us the option to own multiple routes. Since I proved myself over the years, they allowed me to multi route, and I bought my second route a few months into the year.

Acquiring the third route was a bit of a struggle, though. This year one of the older guys decided to retire, and I was pretty confident I would get his route and equipment for what I was asking ($80K), but he ended up selling it to some guy who knew nothing about the business for $125K... which was 50% overvalue. Also, soon after, the employee who was running one of my routes quit on me, so I was stuck without a driver for several months. In that time I was taking insane inventory losses because the guys I hired weren't doing the job right... and I'm talking almost $6,000 in total, which comes out of my pocket.

I dealt with terrible employee after another, and I was on the verge of selling one route. But my ego just wouldn't let me. I fought so hard to build the equity up on these routes... and I worked too damn hard to establish the relationships and business that I did and that I couldn't fail my clientele. And for two months I decided to go on my own, working 18 - 20 hour shifts... 6 days a week, and at the same time, trying to close on a house (lol).

I really don't know how I survived all that. Those 8 weeks drained me physically, mentally... and emotionally. Each day it got harder and harder to get out of bed, and I was eventually running on sheer willpower alone. But I'd always tell myself that I'd get through it, that I'd find a suitable employee, and that everything will work itself out... like it always would for me.

Well, all that blind hope and faith did pay off for me: I got the reliable employee that I needed, and another guy ended up selling out, so that give the third route that will eventually give me my vacation time. The bank gave me a $60,000 business loan to bundle all three of my delivery vehicles into one monthly payment that ends up saving me $1000 a month.

That's why I always preach hard work and dedication because that, and my unwillingness to quit, is what got me to where I'm at today -- not some college degree. Yeah, some luck was involved -- I'll admit to that --, but I had to take risks and endure some hardships throughout along the way.

I'm not necessarily talking about flame wars, those are a foregone conclusion the second any leftist enters the conversation. I was mainly talking about violating what the overwhelmingly left leaning mod staff thinks is the ToU. I see them use made up words all the time just to delete random shit: "gaslighting," "concern trolling," "hand waving," none of which is ever explained in the ToU or anywhere in real life. Case in point, RaptorLC ducked my last question of why he was so lenient and even sympathetic towards another user who was far, far more racist than Admiral ever was. Another case in point, there were several very clear flames directed in that topic, none of which were deleted. When I made a topic asking about it, the topic was locked in seconds. It's funny how whatever the mod that warned me thought he was making some kind of point about how we shouldn't imply anything about the mods' bias when they turn around and do exactly the same thing to me.

I was kinda hoping there would be at least one assigned to every *active* board. The... thousands of dead boards I get not needing one unless reported/notified.

But another user brought up a very good point. A mod for a specific board should be one who knows who the regulars are for that board which can provide wonders for keeping track of things. But... that'd require boosting the amount of mods exponentially which I highly doubt would happen.

Gamefaqs has this great policy where you can go to Ask the Mods and make topics about how you didn't like certain speech or even say the message has an implied meaning or secret code or just didn't match with your precious feelings that day, and the mods will reply "where? where is it? oh please show us, we believe you, we will do whatever you want," but if you want to talk about receiving a moderation or complain about takedowns over things like calling someone a gamer, the doubt shield instantly goes up and you're told this is not the place to talk about any of that stuff.

Gamefaqs clearly needs a special type of detective moderator who can spend weeks investigating a crime. They'll need to be a NEET though as most moderators have jobs and lives beyond their unpaid moderator position.

I don't know much about him but IMO this board needs more conservative posters because at least sometimes the discussions are worth posting in or reading. So much of CE is the same shit topics over and over again. The political ones are nice when they are good. The problem is that there are too many conservative alts posting stupid shit to troll that it drowns out the guys that are smart and honest about their politics and makes the people on the left just assume everyone is a troll.

So many people on this site think that anyone that questions any of the left's main talking points is automatically a brainwashed trumper trolling everyone.
