I would kill to have an actual job as an android developer. Even though I have certifications and got an on site interview at google I haven't been able to get a single job. I've done development in android studio but yeah for game development there's little reason to not use Unity. If you consider what I'm doing "Game Developing" then I am flattered. It still doesn't seem like anything I've achieved "counts" yet. If you want to get into game development I really recommend you participate in the ludum dare game jam. I've done 5 so far and it's always a fun challenge that shows you there is no big thing that stops something from being real.
