KOS-MOS has no games starring her in a decade (or even a re-release of Xenosaga, which could help wonders, as Crash's new strength proves), but still got to round 3 - leading to those hilarious stupid meltdowns, but that's a detail - because only here that could happen. Along with "we're stuck in the past", there's the fact that RPGs are just a genre that requires game guides, and this site was built on them. All the Noble 9 in fact have the help of being from beloved games with FAQ appeal (FF7 and CT are RPGs, Zelda and Metroid have lots of items to get, Metal Gear is weird, and Mario, Sonic and MM hail from the old school hard platformer days). And of course, the opponents were weak: even TLoU2 hype couldn't help Ellie and her unfavorable pic in a site that barely cares about her game, and the protagonist of a KH side game (and those spin-offs while waiting for a KH3 might have even eroded the fanbase a bit) also borders on niche, without the PS2 nostalgia appeal KOS-MOS has.

Mother of God, that's a whole lot of vitriol for Blizzard. Maybe they should attempt other old stuff to rejuvenate themselves. I'm all for a new Lost Vikings game! Or maybe a Rock N' Roll Racing remake!

And that opening paragraph with the politics stuff nearly turned me off (I didn't attempt a thorough read of the whole succession of rants, of course; pure bile has a limit...), specially in seeing the word "communist" being thrown out so early*. Politics are already nasty in my country. This year, it became unbearable. And most of the people who elected a bigoted, angry,and for all intents unprepared moron as President liked to say he would prevent communism from taking over, something that was never a threat, even when there was an actual socialist guerrillla here (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Araguaia_Guerrilla_War ). I agree that leftists are annoying idiots, but the right-wing equivalents downright depress me at times.

*-And solely because the writer thinks the vindication for many people on this board (a rally made out of spite that eventually became a hostile takeover = the object of that is downright obliteraterated) is not as important than his own (anti-Blizzard bias = their representative is Smashed). But I digress. I don't want to start a fight, enter ignore lists, or worst of all, begin a flame war like the one that took over the last topic.

In fact the last Zelda game to feature the Dorf as a major antagonist is Twilight Princess (Demise And Calamity Ganon look a lot different)

Paratroopa made me realize recently how few appearances Ganondorf actually has. It's just OoT, WW, TP, Smash, and that one GCN tech demo.

And yet people disagree that Ganondorf is Ganon, who even appears in more games (from what I can remember, the first three, the combined Oracles, FSA, and SS, plus Smash).

Maybe him beating Ganon and Kirby in 2010, when people were fearing he'd break the Noble Nine? In fact, Sonic might not be the strongest, but he's consistent (aside from 3\4-ways, which screw him on a whole other level). In 1-on-1s, aside from the two I've listed, Sonic has beat Zero, Aeris, Ryu, Dante, Tifa, Luigi, and Auron (plus Vincent during his peak years), and only yielded to non-N9 when Zelda boosted to hell and back came through this year. Even if the rest of the Nine outmuscle Sonic, the only ones to break 60% on him are Cloud and Link.

I honestly wish Shulk could manage to garner a bigger fanbase than just a handful of yaoi fangirls who think he looks cute with freaking Little Mac and the Nu-Fire Emblem self-inserts, since hes probably my favorite RPG protagonist, and Xenoblade was a really good game.

Oh, one of Shulk's supporters outside this kind of fan showed up in Board 8. Too bad it was the one guy that the fanbase can be potentially ashamed of.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is the best in the series, bar none. Don't understand how some people can prefer Sonic 2, in spite of that goddamn barrel in Carnival Night (it even inspired me to search a solution online and discover GameFAQs). Hydrocity is even the first water level that isn't a complete chore to play.

No one after Buzz Aldrin, I'd say. He was along with Armstrong, unlike him didn't become a recluse, inspired the name of Buzz Lightyear, and punches dumb people in the face! A rare case where #2 deserves recognition.

As someone who grew up playing the Age of Empires series, ever since the demo for the original that came in the Windows 98 CD, sad that GameFAQs holds it in a low regard*, specially compared to the Blizzard RTS series.

*-Though it did finish at 55 in that 2005 list (https://board8.wikia.com/wiki/Top_Ten_Games_List_2005), higher than Warcraft III, and entered the 2015 bracket, so there are fans, nonetheless.

Agree that Sonic 2 is not all that good. There's just too many levels, most of whom are either bland or just too hard (the worst being Metropolis, which to make things worse is the only one three acts long! at least the music was nice). Sonic 1 had just two great levels (Green Hill and Star Light) out of six, but Sonic 2 didn't improve quality along with quantity (great out of the first eight, Emerald Hill, Casino Night, and the first half of Hill Top). The bonus stage was also not fun, hence me not even attempting to get all seven Emeralds.

If we lived in a timeline where we allowed Magus to kick Sonic out of the Noble Nine for having the better x-stats in 2003, Team Sonic would have broken the Noble Nine twice during the CJayC years.

Magus wasn't in the 2002 contest, and in 2003 he didn't get to the division finals (unlike Sonic!). So promoting him due to the lol x-stats would've been a dumb decision...

And while Sonic is not exactly the strongest, most of his worst performances are in 3\4 ways - then again, in the latter, Mega Man also faltered. In 1-on-1s, the only outsider to beat him is Zelda, and the only N9ers to break 60% on him are Link and Cloud.

Ugh. Dude, youre a smart bracketer and reliable B8 historian and all, but you really need to calm the hell down with how loudly you express your every mobile and/or post-merge Square videogame is shit extremism.

I also have a problem with the rants at times (he denies being cynical, but with how deep/fiery/widespread the complaints get ...), to the point that adding other PCAs is good for variety - for instance, Zen's late 2013 analysis had wacky ramblings that greatly contrasted with Ulti's angry ones. Still, at least he's on the match topic - there's one against selling out in one of Spring 2004's matches that baffled me.

Yknow, Ive always had issues trying to edit the Board 8 wiki. It just goes to the loading screen and wont go beyond that.

Know that feel. Wikia used to just have a stripped-down Wikipedia-like interface, or the option to remain in that. Then this year, they removed that and now we're forced to deal with this flashy but often unreliable thing while editing.
