after thinking about it, i think what i really mean is that i'd prefer work that starts as 2 and gradually transitions into 1 after a certain amount of time. progression and eventual mastery with periodic challenges, in video game terms i suppose.

if you don't think it'll ever transition into 1 i might stay away. however, i imagine if you're teaching stuff to/training people, the longer you teach/train it the more it'll become second nature

Well tbh im probably on my way out at 3 years in dept if an actual promotion isn't imminent or hasn't happened. My org has kinda gotten a wake up call since we've just let go of two others to our sister department, and my new senior manager...actually interviewed them prior to being promoted himself as a shift manager. So it's kind of funny two people giving up is enough to break the dam in a way.

Dunno if anyone here read this; it's pretty old. Same director as the infinity series. I think it'd be a good revisit to see if any themes hit differently from the year of first release (2006) since it deals with AI, augmented reality and so such and those kind of really accelerated in the past few years obviously.

My first and only read through I found it to be profoundly confusing, but intriguing nonetheless, so why not.
