Watch trailers and preorder based on highly curated content and bullshots. Hype themselves up into a frenzy. Then release is harvest time. The game itself barely matters, because if the reviews are high, it was a good harvest. But blood must always be spilled, to appease the Hype gods. One low review among a sea of high reviews is the typical sacrificial lamb. And if the scores are low, everything must burn. |

I also have a Wii and PS4 that can't read discs. And I have a PC that (digitally) plays games from any generation. I don't care about "owning". I don't care about owning things. I care about the experiences I get from playing video games. I care about the memories and feelings, those are the things that I really own. Those are the things that are really mine. The cheap piece of plastic that the code is written on, has always been devoid of any real worth. |

I can still use the consoles, but the physical games I have are useless pieces of polycarbonate plastic unless I replace the entire console or at least the disc drive. All the digital games I have? Oh no, I don't actually "have" them. I don't technically own them, whatever that really means. But I can still play them. Look upon my physical games collection, ye mighty, and despair. |

There are various things on the list that I don't eat, like ketchup, but I don't think that's the point. I didn't like oysters when I tried them, but I'd be willing to try them again if fried. Never had tofu, but I'd try it. So for me it's just one point, raw fish. I don't think raw fish is really a good idea unless it's been frozen, and even then I still don't want it. I was going to say snails too, but after reading about it I'd have to try at least one. snails don't even taste bad. it's literally like eating clams or musselsIf they're like mussels then yeah, I'll eat snails. |

I got a PS4 in 2017, and never felt like getting PS+ would be a good idea. I really don't get it. If you want to play games online, you should get a PC. If even just for how much money you'll save over several years of not having to pay Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft to use your own internet connection. |

Paramedic talking about Snake's genes, and cloning him. Sigint working with electronics and communications, and saying Zero has a vision for the future. The Boss having a gun called The Patriot, and at the end Eva saying she was a true patriot, and becoming a martyr-like figure to anyone who knew the full story. And so on. You just had to connect the dots and pay attention. Read between the lines. The MGS fanbase has never been able to do that. So they assume it's an asspull any time Kojima writes with a slight amount of subtlety. It's really weird how Kojima has this reputation for trolling the fandom, when his games contain tons of fanservice. I think this idea began circulating because of Raiden in MGS2, that whole switcheroo. But it's established that Kojima didn't really like the character, and only put him in MGS2 because Konami wanted him to, because they thought it would make the game sell more to women. The game was originally going to just have Snake. So Kojima wasn't trolling the fans, Raiden wasn't even his idea. And throughout MGS2, the writing shits over Raiden (almost literally), as if in protest against the character. |
