I've walked past more than one anti gang protest/demonstration just going about my day in the City. Wether they were with BLM or not I dunno, but I can say they were all black.

And yeah, multi tasking is a thing, multiple groups of people doing different things is also a thing. People can protest gang violence and police shootings. Wether it's the same people doing both or two groups of people doing one or the other. That is, in fact, what already happens.

Can't say I blame them for opening fire after seeing how dude was moving.

Did you make your opening post before you saw the video?

I made the OP before the footage was even out. In fact, I don't think there were any stories up at the time. As I said, I saw news vans on scene as I was heading home.

I didn't pay attention to the date of your post. My bad.

No problem.

But we also know this woman wouldnt let the situation go when shes being told no by a manager no less. At some point shes going to have to accept that and leave. But she didnt.

According to the article her issue wasn't being told that they wouldn't accept the coupon, but that they accused her of forging it.

"Sorry m'aam, but this coupon isn't registering in our system, so I can't accept this. I apologize for the inconvenience."

"This looks fake, she probably made this herself."

Two different things.

Who knows how accurate that really is? I've had plenty of interactions with difficult customers and they almost always do whatever they can to paint themselves out to be the victim in the situation. Like, for example, someone will want a refund for something we don't do refunds for and I'll nicely say "Sorry sir but company policy is that we don't do refunds for that product." and then said customer will call over my boss and be like "This rude person refused to give me a refund for something that I want a refund for. A jerk like that has no right to talk down to me in such a way. I spent my money on this and I want my money back!".

Of course it's possible there's misinformation in the article, which is why I said "according to the article". It's currently the best we have to go on as far as actual events go for the moment, however.

Then it sounds like its time to call corporate.

I think she did. Or was telling them to. I do remember something about calling corporate in the article.

I should also note that CVS colleagues are not allowed to ignore or insult customers under any circumstances. Company policy. So these guys fucked up two times over. While I agree that following someone around to argue is dumb, de-escalating that situation should be child's play for anyone working there because of what we have to deal with from customers who can't get a script for one reason or the other. Not only did they fail to de-escalate, they were the ones who escalated it in the first place.

Total failure from top to bottom.

Well if you ever have an example of such a thing you should pm me and show me.

What, you mean proof of my working there? I can upload a pic of my Job and Base Compensation Details pretty easily.

If you meant proof of CVS occasionally giving coupons for free items, just download the app. They'll send you one eventually.

The coupon is clearly fake as the article mentions she printed the coupon. You can't just print coupons for free shit. That's clearly a scam.

Incorrect. CVS sends people coupons all the time via email. On rare occasion those coupons are for free items. And like all other coupons, they can be sent to your email. Also, every CVS has a machine that prints a predetermined set of coupons once per week for and CVS Rewards Card scanned or entered. So it's entirely possible to print a coupon for a single free item.

I highly doubt that. Never heard of such a thing. Free coupons printed from a site have in my experience been 100% scams.

Well I literally work there, so.

the coupon still could be a fake. If he scanned it and it is not coming up as a valid coupon then in no way is he required to do an override to give the depends diapers for free

Actually, in those situations we look at the coupon ourselves and see if there's an issue. The system bugs out regularly for no damned reason, so if a coupon doesn't scan right but looks legit we just force the system to accept with a manual override. Unless policy changed recently and I'm not aware of it.

Disclaimer: The information I have is second hand and not verified at the moment. Should hit the news soon enough because there were a few vans on the scene already. Happened in Chicago, IL near the Jeffery Plaza around 71st & Jeffery.

Anyway, long story short: Cops stop a guy who had a gun. Guy claims to be liscenced to carry said gun. Officer asks where his papers are. He says "right here" and reaches for them. Questioning officer immediately draws and unloads on him.

People will be quick to point out that the guy shouldn't have reached for anything. This is correct. I want to also point out that the cop should not have immediately fired multiple shots. She could have drew her gun and told him to freeze first, but she immediately went for the kill. That'd be proper behavior for a soldier in a war zone. Not an officer who's supposed to protect and serve.

Anyway, full story will be out soon enough if it isn't already up.

I'm not sure if it was a typical job fair or not. It was with Skills for Chicagoland's Future, and the one or two times I worked with them before I just ended up with a job(albeit a temp position).

Still, guess I'd have been even more pissed if that turned out to be the case.

Your stereotypical bad neighborhood. Assaults, shootings, and thefts are regular occurrences around here. Add to that the fact that management removed the locks to the building itself and have yet to replace them(leaving a big, obvious hole where a nob should be), anyone and everyone can just walk into the building.

Had everything set to go and hopefully land a job at this job fair like event. Hair freshly cut, appropriate attire, etc. Time is tight and I HAVE to be there by 10:00, and I use public transportation. I'm making good time, but as I'm nearing the station I can't recall if I locked up or not.

As you can imagine, that bugs the hell out of me. Can't stop thinking about how much I can potentially lose if I left my door unlocked and I'm gone for an hour or more. Also can't stop thinking about how good an opportunity this event is. In the end I went back, meaning I damn sure didn't have time to get to the event because I missed the bus. And the fun part is, the door WAS locked. So now I'm sitting at home filling out applications on Indeed and kicking myself in the nuts.

tl;dr: Didn't go to a job fair I'd been prepping for because I was worried I didn't lock my door. Door was locked, now I'm mad.

Minorities and women often get overlooked when it comes to any kind of achievements, particularly in science. Now a group of minority women have achieved something that's caught the attention of NASA. That's why they point out their gender and and race. It's no different than when a kid does some amazing shit and people list the age along with the achievement.
