It was, in his perspective (OBL) justified, for the reasons proffered in his letter. How is that so hard for you to comprehend. Was our entry into WW2 justified by the intelligence failure that led to Pearl Harbor? You are right Iraq was not justified because it wasn't even Iraqis that hit the towers.

And this entire thread proves to me why abortion rights will never be codified. We can never have real conversations about anything. All of you want to bury your heads in the sand and make fun of people who would love for you to open your eyes and realize that he does in fact have points in that letter and they are not just regurgitations. His beefs are legitimate but I guess if you buy into the myth of American exceptionalism and righteousness and imperialism then it makes sense.

Youre missing the context entirely. Bin Laden isnt making any points that are his. Hes simply echoing our concerns of income inequality and corporate greed in an effort to appear for the people. When the US has been the source of funding for Israel and one of the leading reasons the apartheid state exists, how does it not make sense?

OBL is a bad dude, no question, but we also must reckon with the fact that he made some very succinct and true statements about the US in that letter. I do not believe that most people have the intellectual objectivity to reckon with the existence of that letter and the thoughts contained therein. This is going to be bad in the long run but we do have to confront the truth about the situation and the situation is that the US has left a bad taste in much of the world's mouth due to our overt imperialism, which is covered over by our propaganda machine on both sides of the political aisle. This does not even get into the push for an evangelical led christian national movement, which is still a threat and will remain a threat as long as Project 2025 is in play. Something, I might add that the democrats seem not at all interested in combatting.

And this is why I think Johnson is done and an even more MAGA house speaker will be being voted on by the new year. The freedom caucas has one job at this point, make governance so untenable that it forces Trump back in to "fix" things by making the democrats look useless. Certain MAGA house members have already called themselves ungovernable. You think its a joke that they displayed their, we are all domestic terrorists banner at CPAC?

Destiny, was so hyped for it because of the PR. Got it, utter trash, repetitive gameplay and horrid systems, along with a broken story and bullet sponge enemies and bosses.

I don't know about other countries but I will say in the US, especially in the southeast, very few care, you will see the occassional mask and the folks wearing them look healthy so I assume they are being cognizant of those around them, but on the whole, it seems like no one cares. I attribute it to two things, one we live in a very selfish society, especially in America and I think their is an overall lack of understanding or knowledge about the risks and negative aspects of disease for most people because, again, especially in America, there are ton of willfully ignorant people.

Just proving out the corruption in business that this country is rife with.

Then other fun stuff that I think is still hard by today's standards: 100% SMB3, Dragon Warrior 1-3, Final Fantasy.

Michael Cohen agreed to testify against Trump and genuinely turned against him.... and he STILL served a jail sentence.
What's the difference between him and these people? That they remained loyal to Trump up till now? I'm not sure what message is meant to be sent, but I guarantee that's the message being received by the MAGA audience.

I get your point, but the MAGA crowd is too far gone for reason at this point. Anyone still supporting the mango Mussolini isn't going to change they are in it forever. The point here is to get the kingpin and cut off the head of the beast, otherwise it will continue to metastisize.

If they don't corroborate what the prosecution already knows completely and truthfully, they end up with maximum sentences and all their assets are seized. Trump is going to prison, it will happen, there is too much on the table not to send his ass to prison. Then it becomes messaging time that if anyone thinks about doing this again, the punishment will be even stiffer.

The only one that might go to jail is Rudy, b/c he's too high up to offer a plea deal (I bet the prosecutors will manage to disappoint us, though) but still below the Teflon Don and potentially accountable.

They're giving away all these hall passes just to hopefully toss Rudy and Trump in jail, both of whom are super fucking old even if they do go, so a long sentence is meaningless.
Meanwhile, all these FELONS being let go are middle age or younger, and will continue to terrorize our country for decades. We're watching the genesis of the next Roger Stone and Oliver North right before our eyes.

This kind of thing is exactly why Kaiser hospital went on strike. Understaffing on purpose to save money is a real problem in the medical field.

It is a problem in many industries in America. Say what you will about some positives of American Capitalism but it is rife with problematic processes and policies, some of which border on outright neglect and predation.

That is trivializing everything about men, which, if this is what Tate preaches, don't know, don't listen to him, don't want to, then it is severly underserving men, who in turn, have been left in the dust by the psychopaths who are are the top of the preadtory capitalist food pyramid. So you have two things going on, just in the space of "men's health (holistic meaning)" and the system in which we find ourselves. This is just a jumping on point to a much wider topic because like so many things, the issue is multi-faceted and is endemic to modern life, which lacks so much intellectual and psychological necessities for the human animal.

I was a political science major in college (with a minor in economics which is amusing because I know so very little about economics). I spent my high school and college years volunteering for political campaigns and being an officer for the College Democrats. My first job out of college was in politics.

All of this is to say that I have been a politics junkie for my entire adult life-I absolutely cannot believe the state the GOP finds itself in. This is leaving aside the bad policy and evil and corruption, which is a whole other discussion. One of two major parties is completely broken and incapable of governing. It is astounding.

Anyone paying attention to politics knew as early as the 90s that the GOP was actively radicalizing portions of the electorate with lies and incendiary rhetoric. Newt and Rush and Fox set out to attract a certain kind of base, and they did a ridiculously good job, to the detriment of the country. But that base is now so radical they cant appeal to anyone outside their cult in the country. As a result, they cant even do the most basic governing. Because the base they spent so many years convincing that Democrats were horrible enemies doesnt want governing-they want performative trolling.

Now our system that is supposed to be based on compromise is busted, and the party responsible cant even manage to pick a leader. All because they decided that they thought Rush and lies were a better way to cling to power than developing policies that people would actually vote for.

The state our government is in is horrible and also amazing. I never thought it could possibly get this bad, but the GOP has really done a number on all of us.

Came here to say the same about the GOP but I have an undergrad in Philosophy so I know the origins of governance, at least, philosophically. The modern GOP is a broken mess that cannot function or govern at all. It is astounding to me that anyone would actively vote for them and, frankly, it is an indictment of a certain portion of the electorate.

Ours are weird. We signed up for the SAVE plan and were told we needed to provide additional information in order tp have it approved but we were eligible for the 0 dollar payment, how I have no idea, given my income (loans are my wife's). Checked back a few weeks later on a whim and 0 dollar payment in place of what was owed at the end of October. This was after going through studentaid.gov as well and being told that AidVantage's system couldn't talk to studentaid.gov and that we had to apply through AidVantage. The whole this is a craptastic mess. Also, if all 4 million people got 0 dollar payments through the SAVE plan, which is how many applied at last count, what is the point of not forgiving them anyway?

Morrowind, it will always be Morrowind. The scope of that game at the time and that it still holds up and is getting modded shows how damn good it was. Was it clunky, yes. Was the fighting system crap until you leveled up, yes. But, for sheer immersion, exploration and role playing, it was top notch.

It isn't really tiktoks fault. People have been doing stuff like this for a LONG time. Does tiktok get it out there more, sure but its not its fault.
