I got past the first save point to the spot where they teach you how to you use your like charge abilities (Y on Xbox).

I basically have no souls-like experience at all, but I dug it. Not sure I want to play more of the demo, sort of want to wait for the real thing.

In the mean time I have DS1R, DS3, and whatever is on Game Pass (Wo Long). Maybe I should finally give one a try.

Her next free night off work is Thursday, she said we could hang out then, and she also mentioned she might hang out with our mutual friend at a pool earlier in the day and invited me to that too.

So she probably doesn't hate me yet, but based off of past experiences it is impossible for me to be optimistic in situations like this.

No, I mean as in get internet from the cell tower. Either officially (some ISPs have plans like this) or unofficially (just stick a SIM in a 4G / 5G modem).

I'm on this (4G) and it's comparable to lower-end fiber connections. Not incredible but certianly good enough, and much better than satellite or ADSL.

I looked into that when I first bought my house and they said it wasn't available to me.

The little dish I get my internet from is on a big antenna tower attached to my house, but it's really only good for TV signals.

I could get satellite, but the latency would probably annoy me too much.

I didn't realize my favorite Mario Maker streamers were in this. Nice.

I can really only get internet from one local company at my house.
I have a little satellite dish on my roof and basically the company bounces internet signals off of grain elevators and corn silos, and eventually it bounces to me.
When it works, it works and it is fine.
However sometimes it does not. For the past day or so my internet keeps going out for about 5 minutes every hour, sometimes more often than that. And since it is a local company I have to wait until the offices open Monday morning to actually talk to someone about it. At least I am relatively close to a cell phone tower.

I have had some kids for 3 years now, and will have some of them next year, meaning I will teach the same kids 4 years in a row, which is really crazy. Even crazier I could have switched jobs to potentially have them for 5 years in a row.

I know it got okay reviews, but this is my favorite kind of game.
A big open world where I can climb around and find stuff.
It is the only thing I have been doing in my free time this week.
There is so much crap to find and do, but I think I am gonna go for 100%. Might need some guides though.

I wanted to work with middle schoolers and teach in a middle school. My teaching license covers grades 4-9. I had to wait a few years for an opening in the actual middle school, that's the only reason this was my first year teaching "middle school".

Were there any nice, sweet kids or were they all either boring or assholes? I remember my middle school years more fondly than high school, but most people seem to describe middle school as a vast wasteland of suffering.

There are a ton of sweet kids. Some of my students are my favorite people that I know, and I don't mean when it comes to students, I mean out of all people I know. I am gonna be really bummed if I don't have some of them again next year.

Depends on the town. My towns middle school is 6-8.

For the OP, how were your 6th graders? My kids say the teachers in their school claim the 6th graders this year were the worst they had in a while. Maybe all the COVID virtual learning screwed up their in class behavior.

The 6th graders were about 10x more annoying than the 7th graders.
Most were okay, but about 15% were just rude and ungrateful most of the time. I taught they class below them last year and they were fine, so I see this group as an exception and not the new rule.

I teach Social Studies in Ohio, in a very small rural school (cornfields on every side).

When I was a kid we always went to school into June, but since becoming a teacher it always seems like were done before Memorial Day.

Taught 6th and 7th grade this year.
I had always taught similary aged kids before (4,5,6 graders), but never in a traditional "middle school" setting like I did this year. I also taught these kids last year, so that made the transition easier for all of us.

AMA or something I guess.

I am basically treating this game like Crackdown 4, jumping around rooftops collecting souls.

CORGS Con in Columbus, OH
There are several different gaming conventions in Columbus every year and I usually forget about them, but this time I remembered. This is a one day only thing and held in one giant hall at the state fairgrounds.

It wasn't the most fun ever, but I am glad I went, will probably go to another one.
This con was more dedicated to retro gaming, so they didn't have too much XBOX stuff (what I collect), but that was okay.
Got to play a vectrex for the first time. They had panels but I didn't care about them too much. Most interesting part was the guy who did the catchphrases to NBA Jam was there and he would just yell out random sayings from the game at random times.

That is my kind of game.

Note: I don't currently own a Switch, so I wasn't going to buy it anyways, but I can play it at my brother's house.

I feel like I wouldn't be interested in spending all my time creating little thingamabobs. I mean this is why I've never bought Gary's Mod.
I mean it's possible that actually doing it will turn out to be more fun that I think it will be from watching others do it.
Other people seem to be enjoying it though, so that means its probably pretty fun in practice.

Took me 4 hours 51 minutes to go 1000/1000.

It is a very basic game, but I am having fun with it. I think it's only like 5 hours long so I am close to the end already, but glad I gave it a try.

Sort of feel like an action adventure game for kids.
Combat is simple, but specials let you mix things up a bit.
Great look and art style.
Basically you pick up quests and pick up more as you finish one, then you go back to drop something off that opens up another area that helps finish another quest. The loop has a decent amount of backtracking, but it's not a bad formula.

By short I mean it can be completed in 5 hours or so (give or take a few hours).

Gonna be on a few long (6 or 7 hour) bus rides next week. Looking for something to play.
