Only in the sense that it's the most mainstream rhythm game, and it's only dead because it got milked to death with multiple releases every year. There's still a niche for quality rhythm games, just not much drive to make them because they are niche titles (especially ones that require extra peripherals) and therefore aren't likely to make all that much money.

I think its more an argument that Darwinism doesn't really work anymore since we coddle the weak nowadays instead of letting "survival of the fittest" work things out naturally. Someone like NMB wouldn't make it if Darwinism still worked like its supposed to work.

Evolution does not have a "supposed to." It simply happens, with no goal or direction of any sort. Organisms which succeed are fit, regardless of how you'd like to define "fitness."

Furthermore, "survival of the fittest" is not an accurate summary of Darwinian principles. Darwinian principles are more along the lines of "the fitter organism will have greater reproductive success," and that is not in any way being violated by anything demonstrated here. Those principles can only be applied retrospectively: if NMB dies with fewer children than you have by the time you die, then he is less fit than you. If he has more children by the time you both die, he is fitter than you. Trying to act like Darwinism is anything more than that is just fundamentally misunderstanding biology and trying to rely on that misunderstanding to help you feel superior.

HIV transmission rates are roughly 40 times higher for somebody receiving anal sex than somebody receiving vaginal sex, primarily due to the lack of natural lubrication in the anus (resulting in more irritation and a higher risk of coming into contact with blood). That's a simple fact.

That fact, however, doesn't mean anal sex is a bad idea. It means you should be careful about your choice of partners, and use condoms whenever you're with somebody who you don't know for certain is clean, but really, that's good practice no matter where you're sticking your dick. Citing that statistic for the purpose of criticizing gay men is indeed homophobic.

If you were talking specifically about ethanol outside of fermented beverages, then your statement that most people drink it is false. The vast majority of people who drink any form of alcohol do so in the form of a fermented beverage. Other solutions of ethanol tend to be laced with something like methanol to make them more toxic and discourage people from drinking them.

"Dead" is not a subjective assessment, though. "I've lost interest," sure, and I'd accept "dead to me" as an established idiom meaning the same thing, but the series objectively is not dead. A series cannot be both rampantly successful and dead, unless the publishers made a voluntary decision to kill it off despite that success (though in that case, "retired" would probably be a more apt term, but there's much less precedent for using it like that).

I get that you were just trying to make a pun, but that's not an excuse for saying objectively false things.

Listening to other channels where you get through 3-4 songs in ten minutes and the DJ starts talking again is just obnoxious.

Still better than commercials, though.

Symphony Hall is my default, but a close second is On Broadway, which is show-tunes and pretty much the opposite of 10-minute orchestras; a lot of these songs are like 1-2 minutes and they only do 2-3 at a time, so they get interrupted ALL THE TIME.

I defaulted to On Broadway for a while, but drifted away for pretty much exactly that reason. It was a nice variety of music, and usually pretty entertaining, but there was just too much talking about the goings-on in the world of Broadway and not enough just playing the music. I did at least like that those interruptions tended to be at least somewhat relevant to what was being played, though, and not just a pointless "That was like my favourite song." The decade-specific channels (5-10) are pretty bad for that.

High carb=/=exclusively carbs. It's pretty well accepted that a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet needs some beans and nuts and the like in there to get the required protein/fats. Carbs can still make up the bulk of one's calories without completely neglecting other macronutrients. Especially when those carbs are reasonably varied instead of being primarily fructose (sucrose is 50% fructose, HFCS even more so), which messes with the body by bypassing a major insulin-dependent step in carbohydrate metabolism.

Pretty much, especially with half-generation upgrades like the Pro, X, and N3DS. The only time you're going to see a title make use of the more powerful system is if it's an exclusive, and even then it's only going to be a handful of "please buy our upgrade please" titles that end up really taking advantage of the more powerful iteration of that system. No developer is going to prioritize making their game the prettiest over being able to sell their game to ten times more people unless they're being compensated for sacrificing those sales.

Hookworms typically live in the intestine. The larva will burrow through the skin on their way there (hatch in soil-->burrow through skin of feet to get into the bloodstream-->travel to lungs-->mature in lungs-->get coughed up with phlegm and swallowed back down to end up in GI tract-->latch on to intestinal wall to drink blood and lay eggs that get pooped out), but having enough of them living in the skin to constitute a proper infection is pretty unusual. There are plenty of other parasites that live in the skin, but I wouldn't have expected hookworms.

Vitamin A is good for your vision. If you are deficient in vitamin A, getting more will improve the visual impairments associated with that deficiency. It will not improve visual impairments caused by other problems, because it won't fix those problems. Due to their beta-carotene content, carrots are a good source of vitamin A, but they are not the only source. Ingesting more beta-carotene than you actually need won't help you at all, because it'll just get peed out instead of being converted into the vitamin form (or in extreme cases, accumulate harmlessly in the blood and turn you orange).

If it's easy to prove the defendant's guilt, then they aren't likely to make much of a difference, but are still necessary to make sure the appropriate channels are followed in convicting them. In terms of sentencing, they also act to prevent everyone from getting carried away by their emotions and demanding a harsher sentence than is actually warranted.
