Yeah there's actually programs for this. It's also not that difficult to get around only knowing English in Japan especially with google maps and google translate.

I will argue against google translate, as.. many people here, from my experience, dont understand what the translations even mean, since they sound unnatural. Remember how little experience this country has with hearing ANYTHING outside of the same routine language they hear day in and day out,

Yeah you can get by, but please learn something. Even trying goes a long way with these guys. Once I had to sell something to a store, and I was missing my phone at the time. I had to only use Japanese, write Japanese (big yikes, i suck) , and after the whole thing, he worked with me, helped me out, and thanked me for doing it in Japanese, because he knew no English.

The English education here is very weak, not taken seriously, isnt repetitive enough, and outside of that one class, they have NO useful English interaction outside of said class. Unless they are very curious, they will only learn English to take the equally bad and useless Eiken exam,

I always guess the qualified part is to keep criminals and annoying Temporary residents out. And when i say temporary residents, i mean annoying people who come, harass women, dont pay rent, desecrate private property, and dont do anything to learn the culture. They take up tech or teaching jobs, do them half-effort, then go and party in Tokyo the rest of the time.

If there is one thing Japan has succeeded in, it is that it is orderly, quiet, and the people dont stir up loud drama (only quiet passive aggressive stuff)

Tbh, we're having this same sort of problem over here. I have read Japan has an old hat group too, but Biden saying it feels like a pot and kettle issue.

Yeah there are similar problems in the west, but the Japanese issues are unique to here. Like how the leading party is almost extremely disliked and unsupported by the population, yet they still sit in power like they are Yevon or something.

They do this in every country.

Its total immersion.

It works in most cases.

And for younger classes, they usually have a Japanese head teacher who helps with complicated topics.

But it works for many reasons. One being, translating from Japanese to English would be useless in most cases, so learning from scratch can work. Kids often just begin by learning phrases with context, plug-and-say kind of stuff, and role playing. Grammar almost never becomes a thing until JHS. Think of it as how you learned your native language as a child.

Japans economy sucks for many reasons. I could list stuff but its all pretty obvious. Dinosaur politicians, being slow to change, general apathy towards everything, etc.

As for Bidens comment. Its half true. The general population isnt racist. They are just naive. Its like your grandpa who still calls all Asians Oriental. Of course there is the odd guy who hates foreigners, but they are often weird anyway.

Immigration here is. Strict. They have problems with foreigners coming and suddenly leaving. Apartments often dont rent to foreigners, because the up and leave without paying rent. Hate to say it, but it happens a lot. Japanese companies could try to be a little more accommodating when it comes to renting homes though, for sure. But then many foreigners are insanely naive about Japan and only seem to know anime and manga.

Biden is definitely calling out the zombie politicians though. These guys are too slow to change, dont really do anything, are severely out of touch with people, are pushed by weirdo political cults, and are probably suffering dementia or stress related disease.

The offensive stuff in the newer episodes are forced through writing, and it isnt the same. Seems more like shock value, where the earlier seasons were just bad characters being bad.

Swuall is pretty realistic. Teen who cant open up because hes afraid of being hurt by those he opens up to. Thats real.

Lightning is worse imo. Shes just edgy because she is. No trauma. We see in flashbacks that she was always a jerk. Shes rude to Hope, who just watched his mom die and is an immature kid. She has no reason to be that way. Even with Sara, we know she was a jerk before Sara was crystalized. Shes just an edgelord because it was 2010

Sometimes there were really bizarre episodes, like that one where Bill gets really buff and gets addicted to working out.

Then there is that one where the football player moves into the neighborhood and ruins things. Hank has to think of some really weak plan that only works out because Hank is the main character. I never liked that ending.

Her videos where she talks about culture and norms in Japan. Things like vending machines, shops, stuff like that. She is showing off the very weird entertainment areas of Japan, and doing the Japan is so weird thing.

Those who live there know these things are generalizations and arent true. She does it for clickbait obviously, but it misrepresents our home, which I don t appreciate. As far as her home life and school stories go, I dont really care and thats a private place. She has cute private life stories and the. Japan is like this ones, which we are saying are not representative of the real life here.

Can I prove it is false? No. I can give you other stories and experiences that say otherwise, but whether you believe us, or believe her, is up to you. But you have multiple people here saying it misrepresents Japan. We know it isnt real because we have experienced it and know what it is like.

This wasnt a personal attack on you and im sorry if it came off that way. You know, living here and people asking us if Japan is like those youtube clips, and actually living here. Its like if people asked you about the dumbest stereotype about tour country, and ran with it, and told other people that your country is that way.

I hope this clears things up. This isnt about you, or specifically this girl. It is about the way our home is represented through social media.

Honestly I can be forgiving to FFX for lines that were not delivered that well since it's one of the first fully voiced games, but I hate how people takes the laughing scene and give it as an example of bad voice acting

I feel most people know the context of the scene by now. In 2005 it was funny to make YTMND clips of it, but now people know that Tidus and Yuna are forcing eachother to laugh

To be fair, he was working with early 2000s voice acting and dub techniques.

He is way better in the Dissidia games.

Now people realize that PC has almost every third party game, Sony has almost no exclusives, and MS is also on PC. Only Nintendo fans need consoles, and thats because they have decades of being mostly a first party output

I went to Japan and while I was visiting the zoo I got adopted by an entire highschool baseball team and their teacher too. They were so excited to see a white guy and hang out and everyone wanted pictures and to try asking me questions. Ended up just walking around the zoo with them as if I was just another chaperone. Yes they were like the nicest most polite high schoolers you'd ever met. But it was like that everywhere, you visit Japan as gaijin and you're a celebrity to a lot of people just for existing in their country. I expect that will start to change as tourism ramps up

Depends on where you live and what you look like, really. Certain. Types are favored above other foreigners.

Ive definitely been the center of attention though. Got compared to celebrities I look nothing like, asked if I knew famous people, asked about guns, etc.

One of the nicer experiences was when I lived in a small town. It was right before Golden Week, and this old man was just standing around outside the supermarket. He stops me, asks to talk, asks some pretty mundane questions (in English, mind you, which is super rare, especially for his age), thanked me, and walked off. It was nice and genuine.

Sometimes I actually feel uncomfortable sticking out here, cause people do treat you differently, and sometimes even put huge expectations on you to be good foreign.

One bad example was this woman who kept comparing me to other foreigners. I was the good one and all the others were bad. I told her that this type of thinking hurts me too, and keeps me from major purchases, renting things, and other normal things which Japanese never have to worry about. She said it is fair, because those things need to be that way thanks to bad foreigners. It was bizarre and felt gross. Kind of like an old racist grandpa who has that one black friend.

Within a certain limit and boundary. Its ok to ask if they want kids in the future. I dont feel comfortable if someone asks if we had kids, would you
