At first it appeared Ys IX might surprise everyone, jumping out to a 5-2 lead over GotY favorite Metroid Dread. However, Samus kicked it up to 11 and obtained a barrage of votes to safely put this one to rest.

Metroid advances to the Elite Eight with an 18-10 victory; Ys' 10 votes is more than MD's first two opponents combined, so there's a brief moral victory there.

Hitman 3 has done well for itself, including nice wins over New World and Life is Strange. Meanwhile, Unpacking hopes to continue its Cinderella run after upsetting #2 seed Mario Party Superstars!

The only time in the past decade I've seen Marvel get nominated was the Fantastic Four reboot, which isn't MCU.

DC hasn't been as lucky; Batman vs Superman had 8 nominations, Suicide Squad ('16) had 2, and Wonder Woman 1984 had 1.

Seeing the Oscars topic reminded me to look these up!

Forza Motorsport is also better than GT. 3 and 4 were the peak of Gran Turismo, and I'd put FMs 3-4 and Horizon 5 above both of them

Nier is a remaster, and Inscryption is great, so that was an easy call for me

Nier Replicant was never released in America until 2021, therefore counted for this tournament.

It just happened to get paired with Inscryption once the games were ranked nomination-wise from 1 to 64
