Is this Elite Beat Agents 2?

My friend is hosting a small joke Beyblade tournament (I don't know why) and asked me to make a playlist of background battle music from anime and cartoons from the late 90s to mid 2000s

I'm going to get Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, DBZ and Yu Yu Hakusho. Do you guys know any other good soundtracks off the top of your heads? For some reason I see Board 8 as an authority on this type of thing.

You don't actually need to link anything if you don't want to, I can do the research and downloading myself.

I'm not particularly jazzed by this creative line-up they have running at Marvel, but at the same time, I don't think there is any freelance talent that would fit in with Marvel out there at the moment.

I don't think Gerard Way fits in with DC but they found a way to make it work.

Now they have this entire Young Animal/Mainstream DC crossover going on right now that people are pretty into. If Marvel isn't attracting hot young talent then they need to change whatever they can to make it more worthwhile to sign a contract with them.

It seems that Marvels Fresh Start wont be eliminating Legacy numbers after all. Announced earlier today, this fresh start was expected to relaunch Marvels line of comics with new #1s. Senior VP and Executive Editor Tom Brevoort initially stated that some numbering will remain, but has since clarified this statement.

Brevoort explained that Marvel Legacy isnt exactly going away. Over the next couple of weeks, well be rolling out new beginnings for a few of our key franchises new creative teams, new starting points, new storylines all the big stuff that weve been building towards since Marvel Legacy began, he explained to Marvel.com.

While he did reiterate that titles will be given new #1s, he also clarified that well be maintaining the classic Legacy issue counts as dual numbering on these titles as well. This will seemingly serve to bridge the gap between the two initiatives and hopefully help ease the transition for retailers and fans.

He added one final comment about the fresh start announcement, telling fans to not read anything into not seeing a character on the Jim Cheung piece We can only squeeze so many characters in there without killing poor Jim! If you were disappointed or confused by the absence of someone in the promotional material, dont worry just yet: more news is coming.

Hello comic shop employee here

This reboot is great, CB Cebluski may be a hack that pretended to be Asian so he could steal work from other writers, but that just means he has no shame and is willing to completely throw the last few years of Marvel out the window in order to save this dying company

Marvel sales are way down. I pull Marvel for reservists each week and six years ago I would be way busier than the guy pulling DC. Now nobody wants anything to do with Marvel. There's weeks where we get in books like Unstoppable Wasp or America or Monsters Unleashed and nobody buys them. Not a single copy is sold.

It may suck that they're rebooting again but they need to do this. They need to bring back their classic heroes. Nobody cares about Ironheart or any of these other two-bit "next generation" characters.

We have to types of customers: Fat old white dudes that have been reading since the 80s that specifically just want things to be the same, OR young kids that have learned about comics form the movies and just want the same things as the movie.

I have seen a few kids come in and pass on the newer books on the shelf because they have no idea who Riri Williams is or why Hulk is Asian or why Falcon is Cap. They don't care. They're already intimidated enough trying to get into a medium with several decades of history; to them reading Sam Wilson Cap means having to read all the Cap leading up to that switch and then reading Sam Wilson Cap.

Marvel needs to stick to their guns. DC is doing that for the most part and it's paying off big time. Comics are a niche market that will never sell at the same levels as they did before the 90s crash. They need to fall back on what already works. If somehow comics have another renaissance and they have more wiggle room then they can try bringing back these new characters.

Right now comic shops are not doing well. You need DC and Marvel to both do well, a comic shop can't survive on sales of just one. Marvel needs to start treating writers well and paying them better to attract new talent. Everyone is just going to DC right now and the balance has shifted too much.

tl;dr: Marvel needs to do what they do best and stop trying to reinvent their brand. This is their last shot and they need to focus on what made them great to begin with.

Is this Elite Beat Agents 2?

Can somebody who watched it please confirm if it's ACTUALLY related or if it's just the Netflix marketing team trying to sell it to a wide audience?

I originally thought that Cloverfield was being treated as an anthology with only loose connections between the films. They just finished filming the 4th one and I think it's a war movie so it's another completely different setting and tone and maybe time period.

But that was when Paramount was in charge of the IP, and they sold it to Netflix fairly recently including the finished Cloverfield Paradox, which iirc was originally a different movie that was re-tooled called God Particle. Now with the Super Bowl spot I'm really confused as to where this movie falls in the universe and what direction it's going in.

You can choose any American citizen (native born or otherwise) that is currently alive and has their primary residence in America. Former Presidents do not qualify.

All of the appointed will be referred to as "Sir" or "Miss" and will get a cool T-Shirt and maybe a sticker for their car. Every year there will be a dinner at your royal palace where all the living Knights can meet up and chill out. You only get to name three each year.

The Knights should ideally be people with great worldwide influence who have done good things or have many accomplishments but you can appoint your roommate or brother or w/e nobody can stop you cuz you're the king.

I'd definitely appoint the Rock, maybe Serena Williams or Bruce Springsteen. Buzz Aldrin is an easy choice. Maybe Stephen King.

Sorry I was at work when I typed that comment, I was furious reading it

It reads like it's a #1 for an event book, not an issue #675. Treats every character like you're meeting them for the first time. Clearly meant for a trade, which I guess is fine, but it makes the dialogue really stilted and unnatural.

It starts with Living Lightning monologuing to himself, but at the same time he's speaking the exact same exposition out loud, so it's really redundant. I feel like Mark Waid wrote the actual dialogue and Editorial told him to add the expository thought-bubble things to make the event as accessible as possible.

Also, the new character they are focusing the event on is just some dumb OC self-insert. She's basically the Sentry, and the dialogue introducing her is really hammy.

Most scenes don't contribute to the plot and the threat being set up is really vague. Just overall a really poorly written book that's a chore to read.

Marvel wanted our shop to do a midnight release and our owner legitimately laughed at the request. Nobody cares about this "event." Can't believe they have a lenticular cover for it by default with no plentiful alternative to it. It reeks of a cash grab, and while I know that's all Marvel's been doing lately, this one is so apparent that it's actually offensive to me.

I don't usually read comics and more as being surrounded by them for the better part of a decade has completely turned me off to most hero books, but I try to skim through the events so I can talk about them with customers. This one is probably one of the worst I've read since... Secret Empire. Marvel is going to need to do a lot to win back its fans. Nobody at my shop even really reads Marvel anymore, so I don't know why I try to keep up with their terrible events. We pulled new books today for subscribers and I think there were three or four titles nobody requested at all (Squirrel Girl, Gwenpool, Secret Warriors, Runaways, maybe Secret Warriors), and that used to be really rare, but it's a weekly occurrence with Marvel now.

The sad thing is that there's no way DC can pick up sales slack for Marvel. Our overall sales are way down even though DC and Indie are up. You just can't have independent comic shops without the Big 2 there to prop it up. The worst part is that I used to love Marvel, so it hurts even more to watch them fall apart.

Maybe Akira Yoshi-- err, CB Cebulski can turn it around?

i'm really happy Cuphead is doing so well. the industry should focus more on supporting indie devs with a vision and passion. Microsoft could fund like 100 indie games instead of funneling money into another Gears of War and if even a quarter came out like Cuphead they'd make a good profit.
