Has the guy who plays Geoffrey Wilder in Runaways started doing art for a comic yet?

Dude was on Kevin Smiths podcast and he's a giant nerd and amazing artist. He gifted Kevin a picture he drew of like Kevin as a superhero or something and it was easily commeicial comic quality.

Kevin told him to just ask somebody at Marvel to let him draw a comic. He was like "literally, that's all it takes, just ask them and they will give it to you now that you are in".

Gerard Way on Doom Patrol? Perfect choice. Umbrella Academy WAS basically Doom Patrol. Now it can be like that, but even better, hopefully.

Lemire needs to escape Marvel, too.

He's currently on a book called The Terrifics at DC, which is a 100% shameless Fantastic Four ripoff starring Mr. Terrific, Plastic Man, Metamorpho, and Phantom Girl. I'm skeptical of his ability to do a team book since JLU wasn't that great, but it's a much smaller cast this time and it certainly sounds rad. Comes out next week I think.

Oh, awesome! Thanks for telling me.

If Marvel won't do FF, someone has to.

They actually have a whole line of "almost-Marvel-but-not-quite" books coming out called "New Age of DC Heroes". That's not a totally fair summary because there are some revived classic DC concepts and pretty fresh takes in there, but in premise and style there's a few that seem pretty clearly inspired by certain Marvel characters.

Which, reading this topic, I can't exactly blame them for trying.

I think my favorite era of comics is a bit different than most people. That mid to late aughts time period a bit before Infinite Crisis and a bit after Final Crisis. Just really what clicked with me the most, and why a lot of these "fresh" Marvel shenanigans do little for me. I want stories steeped in a comic character's history and lore, even if I don't actually know it at the time. It makes me more likely to go back to read those old comics, too!

Marvel clearly isn't interested in their own back catalog, though, which is all too obvious in how the big two differ in their handling of trades. Even during the start of the New 52 They were still releasing plenty of older collections. DC revels in their classics, Marvel revels in what's coming out tomorrow.

....no it's not?

I meant that range of time.

To clarify I mean the stuff just before and leading up to IC, and stuff a few years after FC.

DC is still doing their insane continuity stuff, they just keep it localized to events now and no longer uproot every single book whenever they want a crossover. The "main" books can keep doing their more accessible stuff while whatever story is doing an event can just go nuts. They finally found a way to have their cake and eat it too.

I thought you were saying the stuff that took place between Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis.
