If souls existed in the way people believe, some kind of feedback one way or the other. When a person suffers major brain damage, they can essentially become a different person, which makes the idea of some external record of yourself seem kind of pointless. Obviously, someone who believes in it can just say it's a completely immaterial thing that'll be sorted out by God.

My mind was so far away from gods & souls, that I dare say you completely missed the mark here. Still, it's an interesting point.

There is no rational reason to believe one exists. Even if there are mechanics of the universe that we have yet to identify, it's quite clear that an afterlife is simply a pipe dream developed by people who didn't understand the world and still believed by people desperate for meaning. Everything we know about ourselves is tied to our brains, and there isn't a shred of evidence pointing to anything beyond that.

People operate just fine without using their brains all the time tho! ^.^

The new characters are awesome. Kylo has about as much development as Luke did. Rey developed about as much as Darth Vader did. Tbh

Depends on how the deck is being shuffled and how many players are left and tbh what the hands have been looking like. Also depends on whether they got a peek at someone else's cards. For example, if I see that my 4 opponents all drew Ace, King. Same hand, all four of them, then actually, haha.... My 3,4 is looking pretty hot. Idk about all-in tho. If they hit a straight or kick with high card, I'm toast.

They would require a very specific set of circumstances to cross paths with you for the sake of communication (especially peaceful communication like an exchange of ideas). This is assuming the organism or entity in question even actually exists or is capable of communication in the way we do. They probably wouldn't even bother threatening you or yelling at you unless they felt their young were threatened, or they were trying to establish territory. Most creatures are perfectly content running away, spying on you from the shadows, and/or jumping out of nowhere to kill you & possibly also eat you. If they appear to mock you, it is likely only to establish themselves in the eyes of their own herd. If they had contacted us in the past, with the rise of indirect communication like the internet, maybe they prefer to influence things behind the scenes and get humans to try to contact them or do their dirty work like building crazy machines. The aliens may also be trying to weed out the possibility of other threats in the universe and galaxy and are hiding behind the loud, boisterous earthlings as a smokescreen. Who knows.

The reasons are as many as you can imagine and more.

Cheese was adored & often voice work was made to match perceived quality in animation or graphics or maturity level. The is I think if your audience is supposed to be a child, then talk at them like they're a child. I think they were emulating stuff like Star Wars or Power Rangers too....

Elder Scrolls & Fallout, for example, have yet to break this rule. Characters all kinda look like shit. The recordings kinda sound like shit. Makes for cohesive experience and encourages combat/exploration.

GTA does the same thing. NPCs in general, especially throwaway NPCs, tend to have a lower polygon count and a lower quality audio in their voice to match.... The player may end up viewing them as annoying or unimportant, and flee off to find the boss of the level, or try to kill the NPC, which are exciting & addictive staples of the gameplay. They also tend to lean on lower quality recordings so as not to raise the bar too high on what the player expects from the rest of the game. Also, by keeping it cartoony, they can match better with other multimedia... like cartoons for example. What voice work was done in the SNES days was equally cheesey if not way way worse too, so they were largely working from that point.

Instead they thought it wise to go all open world, more DBZ, ride LoZ:TP's coattails, literally sell you a fair number of unfinished games, bank a lot on the anime, and there's no sign from buyers that they should slow down. Hell, the redesign for the movie being such a hit with fans was practically a miracle for them in post-production, I bet. As long as 3 & Adventure fans are still buying the cake, we won't see Sonic enter in as a serious medium again for a long time. Same story with Halo, tbh. What once was championed as evolving all of gaming now exists just to tickle a few bellies. It's memeable.
