There will still be encounters that rely on cramming the player in a small room with an oversized enemy. The network test had an example of that in the castle walls.

If the gameplay is similar, but the world is less terrifying, I might actually like it. Dark Souls just gets way too creepy for me and I lose my ability to move.

That doesn't matter when you play games to actually play them tho. Cause you actually see areas and want to explore them. You don't realize you could run to the end in 10 minutes if possible. Cause you don't purposely stomp on your own toes. So, for the average player, that doesn't matter at all. And for speedrunners, that's cool. Or not. I don't really know the culture

I do that in every Fromsoft game the first time I go through an area. It makes exploring and searching for items much easier too when you don't have some enemy trying to murder you.

Also they give incentives for you to fight enemies instead of avoiding them. Big enemies/bosses can give you new skills and abilities, and regular enemy groups refill your health restoration items.

I'm not bothered by this on its own because I find it pretty neat as a gameplay mechanic actually, but I hate it that enemies don't have to follow the same rules. Though I guess it'd be pretty silly if you got a huge enemy next to a wall and they started ruining their own moves.

Tbf, some areas are best left after finishing. Example: Fighting The Nameless King before Souls of Cinder makes SoC a lil underwhelming. SoC is the only Sekiroulsborne end boss I beat first try. Still solo

What are you serious? A boss giving you a cool new power is a hard pass?

Didnt you watch any gameplay footage? One of the gnarliest powers you saw in that one was when the player character projects a dragon head over himself and it breathes fireeee. If that isnt badass I dunno what else you could want.

One of the things I like most about the Souls games is that the combat, and your character's strength, is roughly the same throughout the entire game. I want to get better as a player, not just level up and collect "skills" to make the game easier.
