If I remember right from n00b Avenger's analysis, Verdugo unfrozen is the most durable enemy in the game with 900hp (where 1 is the upgraded vanilla handgun). That goes down to 300 when he's frozen - but every point of damage you do to him when frozen reduces the time he's frozen.

Or is RE4 just a don't even go there type of game.

Maybe it's just because of my age or whatever but I don't see why you'd update 4. It doesn't need it. I think there's way more potential for improvement with 2 and 3 (obviously, given the like 6/7 years difference in release)

I think it's likely both an act and not an act - an exaggerated version of himself, leaning into his own behaviour to kid himself that it's not really him, just a creation. Sometimes. Sometimes it's probably just him. I don't think it's as easy as "act" or "not an act".

And let's be honest, original Ghostbusters ended with them fighting a giant Marshmallow man. Surely there's a limit on how seriously it can take itself.

Her party's Brexit platform is an immediate revoke of Article 50 and Labour's is a 2nd referendum on a soft Brexit vs. Remain, while the Tory deal is harder and could lead to essentially a No Deal in 2020.

Why doesnt Labour dump Corbyn if hes such an electoral burden?

This is the trap. Any Labour leader would be an "electoral burden". England is a Tory nation - among other things it is fundamentally selfish and inward-looking, see: Brexit - and Labour were screwed once the SNP rose in 2015. Even with an awful Tory leadership people aren't inclined to vote Labour. Full stop. All it takes then is our bestselling newspapers - The Mail (literally owned by a family that were friends with Hitler and Mussolini and were favourable towards them in the 30s) and The Sun (owned by Rupert Murdoch) in particular - to repeatedly smear the Labour leader and you end up with a country that acknowledges Johnson is bad but "just can't vote for Corbyn" (as if we have a presidential system) because their biases have been massaged. Ed Miliband was "an electoral burden" too. Except he wasn't, any Labour leader would be. People "just couldn't bring themselves" to vote for him either.

Lib Dems are vile traitorous bastards who aren't worth the time I've already spent typing this sentence.

I honestly think RE4 is mislabeled as the "death knell to classic RE horror" because half the internet has invested a dozen playthroughs and forgotten their first time with the game. Back in 2005, the village (especially at night) was just as scary as RE2's police station. I'll argue that point with anyone forever.

I think you could still say it is, but the more specific thing to say would be that Capcom learning the wrong lessons from it was the true "death knell".

Definitely, 5-3 is amazing. Krauser is the star attraction, but I've really come to appreciate the U-3 fight as well. The fight itself was so good that I feel the game did it a disservice by shoehorning it into the "Krauser chapter" as an afterthought. U-3 should have had Chapter 5-3 all to itself (with a little more buildup), and Krauser should have had 5-4. As it stands, 5-4 and 5-5 are probably my least favorite chapters of the game, and the only parts where RE4 starts to feel its length imo.

I get it - but after Mike there's only one more big area before the final boss. You're probably about an hour from the end.

Although I will say I now know the game so well that I have no idea how long it would take for a first time player.

But 5-3 is one of the best "levels" ever in a videogame? I'd say it's the peak of the game, possibly tied with the Verdugo fight and the first time you get to the village.

5-3 literally has the Krauser QTE fight (which was mindblowing at the time), the laser hallway, It, and the actual Krauser fight all in succession. It's untouchably good.

Preceeded by the truck set piece (at the end of 5-2) and followed by the chopper Mike section (start of 5-4) too. In terms of 2-3-ish hour long sections of gameplay I'm not sure there is much out there that can even hold a candle to it.

Chapter 5 - This one is messy and a little all over the place. Regenerators are probably some of the creepiest enemies in a video game. They are formidable, awkward, and practically pulsate with discomfort. Everything about them - from the music, to their labored breathing, to their unnatural animations - is designed to unnerve the player. They are encountered one at a time and NEVER as part of an enemy wave. When these guys aren't around, however, innumerable soldier grunts are thrown at Leon - many now wielding armor and long range weapons. While I'm not sure, I get the feeling that Chapter 5 might allow Leon to rack up more kills than the first four combined. The game still tries to blend action and horror, but it feels a little inharmonious here, and I feel some players resent the game's final hours because they essentially do serve as the precursor to RE5 and 6. Additionally, the final boss kinda sucks.
