Ugh, come on, I never said there's anything wrong with spending money on yourself. Reread my post and you'll see my problem is with the "gotta spend it" attitude. Assuming you're making the money, you should have an emergency fund, then put money into retirement accounts, and max them out if you make enough money. Keep some money for yourself and splurge when you feel like it or when you see something you like. The "gotta spend it" attitude is a huge part of why people stay poor. One time I got moderated for suggesting that Flint and Volkner from Pokemon DP could be gay for each other. I feel like some of the moderations here are coming from people who have never really spoken to a gay person in real life. Or the mod is actually homophobic and uncomfortable that people are discussing twinks and suggesting that some characters might be gay, so they shut it down. --- Touch fuzzy get dizzy. |

The second pic is the cup, there are a few dozen fly maggots crawling around at the bottom there, on the paper towel. They're really small though. You can see one of them in the third picture starting to crawl up the cup, from the paper towel. I know it's blurry, but as soon as I took that picture it fell back onto the paper towel and I couldn't get a good pic of it. Also just realized that in the first picture you can see the wing she bit off of the fly on the ground in front of her. --- Touch fuzzy get dizzy. |

As soon as the mantis grabbed the fly, a mass of maggots spurted out of the fly and plopped onto the bottom of the cup, where they're writhing around. Above, the mantis is still eating, and every now and then more maggots fall out of her food. Fucking GROSS. --- Touch fuzzy get dizzy. |

Nowadays they think of mostly comic book nerds and Star Wars, now that those franchises are out of their dormancies. Games seem to have become much more mainstream, losing their "nerd" image, especially after the Wii and smart device eras introduced them to new audiences. Look to how deeply Pokemon Go penetrated demographics last year, for example. I just don't think games have nearly as much of a nerdy feeling to them any more. It's also partly because of the internet. When E3 happens, youtube changes their logo and spotlights gaming content. And there are so many streamers who have millions of fans who watch them play games. That said, superhero movies are by no means niche; they're almost all as mainstream as possible. I just think they've sort of taken over the "nerd" image. I could be wrong though, you tell me. What do people think of today when they think of nerds/geeks? --- Touch fuzzy get dizzy. |
