i can buy a console like a ps3 for 399 bucks and last me 4-6 years. I can buy a pc and have to continue to upgrade it for the best results and not get much for 600.

It's not anti pc, it's smart.

It's smart to know that you won't always be playing hardware-pushing games on your PC, as a matter of fact, most of the time you won't be.

Also, Steam sales. PC gaming is cheap.

I added them together because they're Sony's consoles. If we added handhelds, PSP and DS have very comparable library quality (people will try to convince you otherwise, of course, but don't buy it - the difference is not nearly as vast as, say, PS2 vs. Gamecube).

As for DS and SNES being close to PS2 - I can agree about the latter, but DS? No. Anyway, PC is the best, that I can agree 100% with. :)

Are you serious? The PSP library is no where near the DS library. The DS has a ridiculous amount of amazing games. The PSP has like a few final fantasy games and monster hunter. The only reason I like my PSP is because of the PSClassics and all the ports it has.

What are the so-called "amazing" DS games? Phoenix Wright games are pretty cool, but what else?

Pokemon series, DQ series, Professor Layton series, Elite Beat Agents + sequels, Meteos, TWEWY, Radiant Historia, Etrian Odyssey series, Rune Factory series, Advance Wars series, Mario and Luigi, and still a lot more.

ok how about the fact that they took away backwards compatibility just because too many people were buying ps2 games? or the fact that they removed linux after advertising it as a linux machine? Or what about the lawsuits against people who did nothing wrong? OR WHAT ABOUT THE FACT THEY THEY POURED MONEY INTO THE SOPA/PIPA agenda, which is nothing less than an active act of terrorism?

We should all treat sony and everyone who works for them the same way MWC treats boston.

The first is a plain lie.

The second is a joke, agreed. Far from enough to outweigh all the good they've done for us, though.

I voted for Sony in this poll, so I'm on board with Vlado here.

Today's poll seems fairly similar to this poll from about 4 months ago:

http://www.gamefaqs.com/poll/index.html?poll=4646

The only difference between that poll and today's poll is the extra option for "None of the above". Using the current results right now, if you removed "None of the above" from today's poll, the results would look like this:

Apple 6.35% 712
Google 5.14% 576
Microsoft 27.02% 3028
Nintendo 28.33% 3175
Sony 33.16% 3716
TOTAL VOTES 11207

Luster makes an interesting point - Google is much closer to Apple than in the previous poll. Glad to see people are realising Android's much better for gaming than Apple's closed bs. But with so few votes for them in total, one has to wonder how a 1-on-1 poll would look like.

DS and SNES are very close to PS2 though I admit I consider PS2 the best console. PC blows any console away.

I'm not going to deny that Sony has done a lot for gaming when it comes to developing hardware and software, but they're terrible when it comes to customer support and customer relations. Which, in my opinion, would be a part of "working for the gamer's interest."

No company is perfect. I bashed them quite a bit for removing Linux and for the hacking mess-up. Their PRs were also completely inadequate before Kevin Butler came in the spotlight.

But when you outclass the competition so much, you deserve the praise.

So, basically... Free online is all you have, since the PS Plus thing is basically them offering people games most of them either already have, don't want, or would otherwise buy used in an attempt to use their paid online.

That's baseless assumption. And even if it were true (for 0.001% of the PS3 owners it might be!), PS Plus is still an option - it's not like they force you to sign up and go "hey, have these free games," it's just an offer and you can decide whether it's good enough for you.

Indeed, the shift to standard third-person shooting is totally RE5's fault, nevermind that it happened in RE4.

RE4 is not a standard third person shooter. RE4 did invent the formula, but did not forget the series' survival horror roots. It incorporated this into the mechanics. RE5 went full Gears of War on us.

They weren't even English!

italy is very bad at penalties too to be fair

acrossbar and a weak shot saved them

as for Vlado, so true. Italy's midfield was beautiful, BRILLIANT. wonderful work with the football, sheer domination, amazing control, great change to play and chances every which a way. They will give germany a game.

I was actually speaking strictly of the penalties. If you can't convert so many chances, you can't complain too much if you lose, so I can't speak too positively of Italy's work before the penalties.

Pirlo's brilliant penalty, though, turned things around. They were A GOAL DOWN at the third penalty, another miss would've meant it was over. And Pirlo went and did that. THIS is what separates the great from the absolute best in the world.

lol, didn't know England were playing against FIFA! If you'll talk of corruption, how about talking of the referees, under FIFA's command, pushing FIFA's favoured team even in the freaking World Cup Final, with billions at stake, not the several thousand some defender in Italy took from a bookmaker to have his team concede a goal (and match fixing totally doesn't happen anywhere except in Italy - and definitely not in England, it's not like QPR let Manchester City score that third goal and win the title because Bolton's match had finished).

As for tonight's match, FORZA ITALIA! The only team that can stop Germany on its own merits (another can do it if the refs work their magic as usual, of course).

Lightning Strikes posted...
The bad would be it being RE4 but less so with worse mechanics, the entire plot, the length, the shift to standard third person shooting, and most importantly, the lack of scares and atmosphere.

Indeed, the shift to standard third-person shooting is totally RE5's fault, nevermind that it happened in RE4.

8. Awesome with a friend (might as well be the best co-op game of the generation), Wesker is badass. You can't go wrong with this one.

Mass Effect 2, even if it's considerably weaker than the first one.

Well, you know I've got a PS3, but my claim there are few such games today stands. Check that Co-optimus site... Even its very existence is already an indication.

It doesn't really matter, in essence, they're different games. They tell the same story, I suppose, but there are some key differences between in it between the two versions.

The browser version offers more gameplay variety - most is platforming, of course, but there's also motorcycle riding, swimming, a fighting game-like stage, a puzzle game-like one... And it's neat that you can "save" your game if you make an account.

In the HD version, there are just platforming and a few swimming stages. But it's more of an action game, you can do combos (after you buy them from a store), block attacks and stuff. Boss battles are great fun, as is playing couch co-op. Stages sometimes offer different paths you can take to complete them.

I suppose you could play the browser version first to see if you're into the art and the world and everything. It's free, after all. And there's a demo for the HD one available, so you can try that one before you buy, too.
