lol, didn't know England were playing against FIFA! If you'll talk of corruption, how about talking of the referees, under FIFA's command, pushing FIFA's favoured team even in the freaking World Cup Final, with billions at stake, not the several thousand some defender in Italy took from a bookmaker to have his team concede a goal (and match fixing totally doesn't happen anywhere except in Italy - and definitely not in England, it's not like QPR let Manchester City score that third goal and win the title because Bolton's match had finished).

As for tonight's match, FORZA ITALIA! The only team that can stop Germany on its own merits (another can do it if the refs work their magic as usual, of course).

As for Spain, they're the equivalent of the poster buy the management (FIFA) chooses for better profits. Something like Cena - disgusting, boring to watch, yet he always wins. Except, unlike in wrestling, people are fooled into believing there's actual competition.

We have not had our biggest clubs found guilty of match-fixing and corruption and relegated.

Could football be corrupt completely across the board, in the Premiership? Sure, possibly. I'm not rejecting the idea at all, but we haven't been found guilty of it (yet). Until that happens, we're not, factually, guilty of these things. What you have is nothing more than unproven speculation, I have fact.

tl;dr: Not denying the possibility of corruption here, but it's nothing more than a possibility. Unlike Italy, who have been found guilty of it and punished for it.

Contextually we are.

Footballers are utter bellends across the board. Generally they are just... bad human beings. So like, Gerrard is obviously a c***, but then so is <Italian Player X> and <Portugese Player Y>. Our players being bellends doesn't make us the bad guys because in football it's basically the minimum - they're all idiots.

so you're just gonna cling to internal corruption and blame it on the players and fans who actually play for the passion of it? I blame it on the mafia (jokingly) because how else would these stories become public yet almost every other nation can hide the BS with referees and fixing for revenue and crap? Either way it's not on the world stage, so keep it out of this and get over your dumb hate for Italy. Your team underachieves too much, there's a good chance today Italy stymies them with typical "boring" defense (part of the game, u mad) and then counters to win on maybe 1 or 2 good offensive possessions.

In the event that happens I'll be here, ready to pounce.

It won't change the fact that Italian is football is rife with match-fixing and corruption.

Like, seriously, we're almost certainly going to lose today. That sucks but I'll get over it. The facts will remain unchanged.

Yeah I mean

Usually it's greatness that is hated and we're clearly not that. Or are we? Like, not the football team, but the country, and that is what it stems from? Who knows.

(also stymie our offence, sure. We've had virtually no offence this tournament. We've been about absorbtion tbh. I don't expect more than a couple of goals at most unless we get an early one, which could open things up)

Capello openly and publically undermined his bosses on Italian television. I wanted him to stay because he's a good manager, but it makes perfect sense from an employer's perspective. And it's not like he had much leeway to work with after the multiple mistakes he made in 2010 (the players were more at fault but he made a lot of tactical errors).

From: Vlado | #033
Sorry, but if you earnestly believe football is clean elsewhere...

I think it's very possible that football is corrupt elsewhere, but I don't have anything as concrete as what has happened in Italy. There it is fact. Everywhere else, like I said, is wild speculation. I THINK it is. I don't KNOW it is. And you don't know it is either - whereas you do know that Italy is wildly corrupt.

Technically Bridge was finished with her when Terry moved in I think, but it hardly matters. Like I said, footballers being dickweeds is entirely expected and, as a result, a non-issue. Italian footballers just as bad tbqh.
