These studios are quite clever. Change an iconic figure to be black/female/trans/gay or any other attribute to reflect the changing times, but don't bother putting any effort into the movie itself.

That way, when people complain about the movie being shit, the studio can say "ah, see, you don't like it because you're racist/sexist/bigoted" etc. It negates someone's criticism from being taken seriously even if the movie does in fact suck.

Look at all these sequels and remakes that are being made, just soulless heartless cash grabs riding the coattails of a nostalgic title

I learned about this place recently and am flabbergasted as to why you would design a town like this even outside of a place where hurricanes are a regular occurrence. Seems like it would be miserable to drive any where and that 9 months out of the year there would be a sea of bugs everywhere

Haha, fun fact: Cape Coral has more mileage of canals than any other city in the world, even more than Venice, Italy!

It's very gridlike here, road wise. Very few real street names. It's all # DIRECTION # TYPE OF ROAD. Examples: 826 NW 22nd Avenue, or 2739 SE 13th Terrace

My family and I are okay, guys. A couple of our trees came down; they weren't small, by the way. Lost tons of roof shingles. Our lanai cage is still standing but bent in spots and missing several screens. No power, and who knows how long it'll take to get it back considering all the damage done to the grid.

One of my sisters was staying on the second floor of a marina hotel where she works in Fort Myers. The whole first floor was underwater. She lost both vehicles.

My phone is at 37% and I don't have a portable charger, but my laptop still has some charge so I'm gonna charge my phone off that for as long as I can.

Yes, since 2002. I was actually born in Florida back in 1988, but my family moved to New Jersey when I was about four, so when we moved back I was 14. Really though, over the span of 20 years this is only the second hurricane that seems to really be a threat for Cape Coral, after Charlie in 2004 (Irma a few years back didn't really do much here), so that's not a bad track record.

This is a spicy question and a little invasive, and to answer it I would like to point out the results of a quick Googling, it costs about $25,600, on average, without insurance. Insurance is quite reluctant to cover it, because it's expensive and also because it makes no fiduciary sense for your insurance to actually pay for anything ever, so actually getting them to do so sounds like pulling teeth. Also, just to get it, there are generally requirements insofar needing to live as your gender for at least a year and getting letters from psychologists that certify that A) You're sane and B) You're actually trans and should receive this surgery.

B is especially problematic, because most psychologists don't work with trans people, and have very limited ideas of what being trans means. So, if you're non-binary and want bottom surgery, it behooves you to just lie about your gender expression, because many psychologists will just not write you the letter if you don't present as binary (not a problem in my case). Luckily, when I went looking for letters for laser hair removal, my clinic handed me a list of reputable Psych Ds to talk to.

If you manage to be able to afford it and get your ducks in a row, recovery is slow. However...
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8099405/
The regret rate for these surgeries, according to this particular study from last year, regardless of which direction you're going in, is ~1%. No credible study has found a regret rate higher than the low single digits, to my knowledge.

Lastly, it's typically referred to as "Gender Confirmation Surgery", "Gender Affirmation Surgery", or colloquially as "bottom surgery". That's a really outdated term that you're using.

Anyway, I'm going to bed. Sleep is vital for growth breast and thigh growth, in my case. I would make a delicious roast.

Thank you for the edification, and I apologize if my ignorance of the subject matter offended you, or if my question was worded coldly.

I am a huge fan of the Halloween film series, so I thought it would be fun to make this topic highlighting five of the most surprising moments throughout the franchise. These are moments that are either seemingly out of character for Michael, or just otherwise unexpected. This is not meant to be exhaustive, just simply my own opinion. Clips are included. Hope you enjoy!

#5: The Shape allows himself to be caught (3:50 in the video)
Halloween Kills (2021)
The current timeline disregards all films other than the original. Halloween Kills explained how Michael Myers was apprehended on Halloween night in 1978 thanks to a few flashback scenes. After Dr. Loomis shot Michael and Michael fell off the balcony, he returned to his childhood home. There, he attacks Haddonfield police officers, resulting in one of them dying, by the time reinforcements arrive. Michael steps outside and, in a scene mirroring the beginning of the original movie, simply stands motionless, like a statue, while numerous officers are trained on him with firearms and Dr. Loomis stands behind him. It's eerily reminiscent of six-year-old Michael standing in a catatonic state in front of his parents after murdering his sister. The implication is that this is a cycle for Michael. He kills, he returns home, he gets caught, he bides his time, he escapes, rinse and repeat. He doesn't care how long it takes. 15 years. 40 years. The cycle repeats. Terrifying.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-lAUZZbHFQ

#4: Michael Myers restrains himself around Dr. Loomis (0:30 in the video)
Halloween 5: The Curse of Michael Myers
It is true that there are numerous moments throughout the series in which Michael exhibits great self-restraint around his longtime psychiatrist. There is undoubtedly some special bond between Michael and Loomis. I chose this specific scene, however, because I feel it best encapsulates the unique relationship between the two characters. Dr. Loomis is wandering the Myers home, stalked by Michael himself. When Loomis realizes this, he tries to appeal to Michael's humanity, or whatever infinitesimal shred of it may be remaining. Michael is seeking to murder his niece, but Loomis tries to explain to him that she can help Michael overcome "the rage" that has overtaken his body. Loomis stands literally right in front of the Boogeyman, and seems to calm Michael for several moments. But when Loomis tries to take Michael's knife from him, Michael responds violently -- yet still restrains himself enough not to deliver a killing blow. He slashes Loomis's torso and then tosses him over a barricade. In comparison to what Michael does to other characters, he is clearly being very kind to perhaps the only person in the world who truly understands him.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92MiYgVTr04

#3: Busta Rhymes (as "Michael Myers") convinces the real Michael to leave
Halloween Resurrection
Halloween Resurrection is universally regarded as one of the absolute worst movies of the entire franchise, and for good reason. Nevertheless, there are a few scenes that are memorable, for better or worse. In this scene, Busta Rhymes is stalking the Myers house dressed as Michael in order to terrify college students who are staying in the home as part of a "Dangertainment" program. He is unaware that the real Michael Myers is right behind him. In fact, he assumes it's a co-worker of his, and lays into him verbally, even aggressively tapping his head and asking "Your shit ain't workin' up there, or something?" After his tirade, Michael actually turns and leaves. Disregarding the obvious comedic element of this scene, there are a few things to keep in mind. Busta tells Michael that he left the back door unlocked for him to go and help Nora (Tyra Banks' character). So from Michael's perspective, Busta just informed him of a very easy kill -- perhaps Michael left because he figures he'll take care of Tyra first and then come back for the others. In addition, because Busta was dressed in the same outfit, perhaps in Michael's twisted psyche he thought he was somehow communicating with himself, hence his somewhat befuddled departure.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJ7IK9cY4D0

#2: Michael Myers relinquishes his knife
Halloween Resurrection
One more moment from Resurrection, this time from the beginning of the movie. Harold is a clown mask-wearing psych ward patient who is obsessed with serial killers and mass murderers and possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of all their biographical details. Following Michael's murder of Laurie Strode (at least in that timeline), he goes back inside the hospital and walks to Harold's room. The audience assumes that Michael is going to claim another victim, but shockingly he hands the knife over to Harold, who ecstatically accepts and begins rattling off details about the life of one of his idols -- Michael Myers. Now, one could very well argue that Michael was simply framing Harold for the murders at the hospital. But one must keep in mind that Michael has never seemed to care about framing other people; getting caught has never been something he's ever really been concerned with. Perhaps there was some small part of Michael that related to Harold, since Michael himself wore a clown mask when he committed his first murder. Either way, it's truly bizarre to see Michael give up his knife to another person.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=alXLJsSBP6s

#1: The Boogeyman unmasks and cries in front of his niece (1:30 in the video)
Halloween 5: The Curse of Michael Myers
Yes, another moment from the fifth installment of the franchise. In the 4-5-6 trilogy, Michael stalks his niece. The sixth film explores the Curse of Thorn, which evidently is the source of both Michael's power and his murderous rampage. This storyline element was not quite introduced in part 5, however, so any sign of a suppressed humanity in Michael was destined to come as a shock. Indeed, as Michael has his niece on the brink of a stabbing in the attic, she stuns him by asking her "uncle boogeyman" to remove his mask so she can see his face. He does so and we see a single tear forming at the corner of his eye. This moment suggests to the audience that there is indeed a real person underneath it all, a human being struggling to break free from the curse of evil that has overtaken him, but is unable to. In fact, as soon as Michael's niece reaches over to wipe the tear from his eye, he snaps back into his murderous rampage as if an uncontrollable force just seized his body once again. Haunting.

Let's keep in mind a few things:

1. I don't think Michael Myers should ever be killed

2. There needs to be a scene where the audience is convinced Michael is about to die, i.e., what's about to be done will in fact kill him

3. Reinforce the supernatural element

Ergo, at some point JLC and company have Michael incapacitated and they have his limbs chained to four different trucks. The plan is to draw and quarter him, Hitchhiker style. I think everyone would agree if Michael's body was literally torn apart, he would die.

However, when JLC and company all get into the trucks to start them and rip Michael apart, none of the trucks will start. All. Four. Trucks. Stall. Clearly this goes beyond mere inconvenience and strongly implies a supernatural force at work.

They get out to check on Michael, and he is gone, with the chains snapped.

Where you go from there I'm not sure...

The question of Deckard's humanity is left purposely ambiguous, IMO. It is true there are hints that he could be a Replicant, such as Gaff leaving behind an origami unicorn from Deckard's dream and Deckard's eyes having the telltale Replicant retinal glint in one scene.

Nevertheless, I do not feel these were ever intended to be taken to their logical conclusion (i.e., that he is a Replicant). Roy's mercy and death spell out the theme for the audience. Deckard's humanity (or plausible lack thereof) is best left as a subtextual adjunct to the overall message. To reiterate what someone else said, not so much "is he or isn't he?" But rather "does it really matter?"
