Took a while to catch up to all these posts. GME and AMC revival?! Im sure I would have lost tens of thousands of dollars if I was here a few hours ago.

Anyway, Im still going to be away for a bit. Just wanted to drop by and check on things. And dont worry, I only lost 7% on DNN. I panic sold once I realized I had $90k instead of $70k in it. Havent done any trades since I last posted. Probably wont do any until things die down at work.

I fully anticipate DNN to be -20% at some point tomorrow. Stocks that have meteoric rises dont go down big two days in a row and then up big on the third. I should have waited until tomorrow to invest but that would have tarnished my streak of bad decisions today. But I will hold, hold, and hold until this stock gets a big jump. I reckon it will happen.

I make around 100k a year. I can easily live off 50k.

If i was making 100k from stocks a year consistently I would probably be comfortable making the switch. I would use half my gains for myself and half to reinvest.

Assuming a 10% return (somewhat conservative) it would probably be around 1 million. I would probably wait till closer to 1.5 million though.

It would depend on how much money youre playing with. Earning $100k/year in stocks is very hard to do if youre playing with $50k, for example.

Not thinking or caring about investments is not a good way to make money. You can care and think about it and not be constantly jumping in and out of positions.

And it takes a LOT of capital to where your investments are consistently generating more gains for you than your work. Like, in a bull market you may do very well but if a bear market comes, unless you have a lot of capital to ride it out, you'll be glad you have a job.

Agreed. And that is why I do not intend on relying on the stock market ever. I view it as a supplement to my income.

Some people are able to not care or think about their investments for long periods of time, others struggle more with that. I fall into the latter category, but I do enjoy the rush it brings too. Overall, its not something I want to be doing for the rest of my life by any means.

Its interesting. These topics focus almost exclusively on stocks (and other investment types to a much lesser degree) so it becomes easy to think of them as the end-all be-all for peoples wealth. Its easy to totally forget that jobs and other means of income not only exist, but are responsible for a majority of ones wealth. There is likely a correlation between how much time people invest in stocks versus how much wealth they accrue outside of stocks.

As far as I go, I never would have thought wed be 22 topics deep about stocks and Id be up $50k in under a year. While it sucks to know that the $50k could be literally 20x higher if I had done things better, Im not going to be upset at what Ive gained doing almost no work aside from reading these topics. I would like to get better at trading stocks but it doesnt seem worth it to me based on how Ive done thus far doing what Ive done.

I dont understand why all of a sudden DNN is being viewed as a bad company to invest in, but only if its with a lot of money. I get that its a low-priced stock and had a recent surge, I get those two variables. And I also get that I 100% misplayed FPVD, but that company has nothing to do with DNN.

If the only caution is, you misplayed FPVD and will therefore sell DNN too early, then okay. I know I will hold DNN for the reason I listed earlier. But I do not understand why people are down on DNN suddenly.

Lol. If it drops significantly then I am faced with selling for a huge loss versus holding. I will hold because I do not want to lose that amount and have no better plays. I sold FPVD today because I felt DNN was a better play. I suppose I could sell DNN for a huge loss if another stock looked better to me, but I dont think that will happen.

I moved to the southeast, largely to get away from the cold weather, and when this recent storm took away my power for three days and I saw the uranium stocks go up, it made me realize that thats a huge opportunity for nuclear energy growth. I reckon the southern states will learn (the hard way) from this recent weather issue and such forms of energy will go up.

I will also say that I dont like holding stocks for earning reports anymore, and the reliable big name stocks have always screwed me. Apple, Tesla, Google, etc. If I had gotten in on them months ago then great, but I got so now and holding lost me money.

At least this way I have a shot at making big gains, and I wont be going in and out of random stocks as much.

Oh its crazy. But I believe in this stock to the point that its worth the massive investment risk. I put all my AMC gains ($50kish) and another $20kish. I plan on holding until it goes over $2. If things go wayward and it drops significantly....then I made a pretty bad investment.

Moonroof, I hope you are not using those 25k positions from before. That's fine with stocks like Visa but it's really way too high an allocation for penny stocks.

If you are playing with all your money, a 10x gain is equal in size to a 90% loss. If you are playing with a small fraction of your money, a 10x gain is nearly 10x bigger!

I wasnt with FPVD, thankfully, but still about $14k. With DNN Im in a ton though. $70k.

@Sunroof I feel like this should be obvious but i'm going to say it anyways since I feel like this is the main thing you need to learn.

You should not be investing more than a small percentage of your money in stuff that you do not understand. Just because someone in this topic is bullish on something, which they may or may not have good reason for, unless you personally understand why and agree with it you should not be putting tens of thousands of dollars in it.

Two reasons for this:
* To make sure you personally agree with the bullish sentiment. If they can't convince you you probably shouldnt be buying
* To give you the confidence you need to hold the company even if it goes down. If you don't know anything about a stock and it dips 50% you might want to just bail. If you you are confident its worth more you would buy more. It's a powerful thing

Yes, this is all obvious and also what I needed to hear. Despite it being obvious, I got antsy and made a rash decision against it. I will keep this in mind in the future and not repeat this, even if things end up working out with DNN.

GRWG is at 55 dollars a share, its not a penny play. Its just a longer hold that I like and have been adding here and there for the past year.

PVDG ive been in since September, but is obviously a short term hold. I've already made a ton on it and sold out a fair bit for profits so I have a bit more of a easy feel on it, but it appears to be basing for its next leg up with somewhat of a bullish pennant forming on the daily chart. No guarentees that it goes up, but the catalysts seem like it should have more to it. Penny plays are obviously very risky, but so is buying gamestop at 300 dollars a share

Seems I missed the boat too.

again, if you want the penny play, pvdg has made me a fuckton and appears to be basing a bit for a potential next leg up. I've already sold out a fair bit for large profits (was buying in the .0015 to .003 range, sold at 7 and 9.5 cents), but I think this could be the next otc that has that massive run.

Adding to GRWG on this dip as well, been buying since 5 dollars back around the start of the pandemic.

I am interested in penny plays but am down $10k from the other two. I just sold AAPL and TSLA for a 10% loss because I want to go in other stocks after these past two red days. Are you recommending the above two for end of day?
