Just bought $26k Square. Earnings 2/23. I reckon it will crush expectations like last time and increase like last time.

Just goes to show how far I am willing to go to support my loved ones

I went into Match just now solely to support the stock, not really caring if it plummeted like normally happens when I invest. And I took this opportunity to practice Stops so I could get better at them and.....messed up again. It hit my stop pretty much immediately and I made $4 on a $26k investment.

Lmao. You guys make fun of me in this topic because I dont know what I am doing but Im real life I am capable. I work for a three letter government agency, exercise five days a week, have advanced degrees, etc. etc. Learning about stocks has been on my to do list for awhile!

Its like gacha. You can pay for more features, such as Super Likes, showing up more often to other people, filter by more specific criteria, etc.

Ive never spent a penny on any of them, miraculously.

I am legitimately upset that I never knew there were dating app stocks. They play such an integral part of my life that I seriously think I would have bought and held for multiple months, as opposed to the random stocks I buy because you guys recommend them.

After doing some more research, I like Bumble as an IPO. Match has crushed the market since Covid and I dont see why Bumble cant mimic its success, so long as its at a lower price.

FWIW, MTCH is apparently a stock. Its Match.com which includes Tinder, Hinge, and I think a few others. Its been doing pretty well. So yeah, maybe Im wrong.

At any rate, it does seem that a large majority of IPOs increase within the first two months at some point. I just dont think Bumble will be a banger like some of the other IPOs.

I would reckon that Tinder would have a better shot than Bumble. Although another feature of Bumble is that you can switch modes to Business and also Friend. Meaning its technically more than a dating app though I seriously doubt more than 10% of users use those other two features.

...My point is that Bumble not only is not that much different from all of its competitors, but that its field (online dating) is in a decline.

I use Tinder, Bumble, Hinge, Clover, etc. Ive probably gone out with literally over 100 women using all those apps and banged maybe 30. Bumble is certainly the most female-friendly. But does that matter for the stock price? I will also say that the efficacy of these dating apps have greatly dwindled in the past five or so years. Its much harder to get dates with people nowadays using apps compared to back then. Im sure there are many reasons for this.

I cant imagine a dating app doing well. But what do I know?

Square and DraftKings are on my radar for next ER stocks (reporting week of 2/22). So if you want to get in on them before the hype, now is the time. SQ seems better than DKNG but I dont know. I think theyll both go up.

This is a paper thin strategy, but it seems that whatever stocks increase a lot one day go up a modest amount the following day.

Okay, that does help make sense to me. I still dont mind doing market purchase for bigger stocks though, but I will do limit for these smaller ones.

They normally do change in those brief few seconds. Thats why I tried simplifying it for myself.

So quick way to remember getting limits to execute immediately:

Buy: set limit price HIGHER than current price
Sell: set limit price LOWER than current price

How does that work for an order of 10k shares at $.60, but there are only 5k shares trading at that price?

I also only did $9k worth of shares rather than $25k, in my limit order.
