The only postulation I saw that makes sense is someone on Reddit said with PlayStation delaying their PS5 showcase, Activision felt they needed to stay in lockstep with it as Season 4's launch was meant to coincide with the reveal of Call of Duty 2020 at said event.

But even in my head that sounds like a stretch. They did a Double Everything weekend because Season 3 was coming to a close, the launch date seemed pretty firm and I can't imagine what it would really have to do with the PS5 event, CoD 2020 or otherwise.

The more cynical (and the reason I subscribe to) reason is that they don't want their news overshadowed in the news cycle by ongoing current events. So they'll wait until they can hog the spotlight.

Just another example of how the game industry doesn't make the consumers feel like they matter and are all too interested in being relevant to their investors.

That's how I see it. Why make people feel better, let's just stand in stoic solidarity because fuck you for wanting a good time #SOCIALISSUES.

Things are bad, yes, but how is this making things better? Sony is a multinational corporation. They aren't an individual, just a homogenous entity with no opinion or sentiments. Doing this just seems arbitrary and hollow. Pressing on like nothing has changed seems more honest and real when everyone already knows they just want to turn a buck.

How do you protest an institution that no one seems to want to let go of in the first place? You're protesting yourselves because you enable it.

If people are genuinely tired of being locked to two candidates who are increasingly being reduced to "well they're not AS bad as ___", they need to do something about it themselves. The Democrat and Republican parties only have as much power and insulation from doing right by the people instead of by those with money and sway because we let them. No one thinks their vote matters if they don't stick to those parties so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

I feel like the farther you get away from a certain age, the fewer people you find who may treasure the things and stuff they remember from that period of their lives. Everyone has different things they treasure about their youth but what you value may not be the same as what someone else does when they look back and, at least for me, that feels kind of lonely and distant.

I've found some friends who have similar things that they look back on fondly so at least there's that but when talking to forum goers in particular I find it's hard to get people excited about the specific stuff from my youth that I look back on and enjoy.

Given that I come from Hong Kong and knowing what they're putting up with now, it's better than that...sort of. Nothing bad has happened to me directly.

There seem to be better places to live, though. I just don't know how I'd acclimate to those cultures coming from the background I presently have.
