Definitely the Marvel shows, and in this order: Daredevil S1 > Jessica Jones S1 > Daredevil S2 > Luke Cage S1 > Iron Fist S1 > Defenders

Highly recommend Black Mirror, the best show on Netflix.

Clown was some decent body horror but it's just a typical Roth film tbh, nothing too special.

You're probably right about Green Room. Don't Breathe was a pretty big sleeper hit and grossed big time so I think it hits the top 10. You're next ends up somewhere in the middle but I still think it gets the edge towards relevance, I think it was the big boom the genre needed for The Babadook, The Witch, etc.

The Conjuring I left out because I literally forgot what the movie was about like the day after watching it. Wasn't memorable to me. Green Room was solid but I wouldn't put it among the most essential horror. Haven't seen The Purge or its sequels, though I can get having that in as it IS becoming a pretty major staple of horror (that's also the argument I can see for Insidious, even if I didn't like it much).

Of my list, I feel like Sinister is probably the objectively weakest entry, but Mr. Boogie/Bughuul is one of the first to come to mind when I think of modern horror villains (probably 3rd after It and Babadook).

Also want to throw an HM to Clown.

I'll admit a big 10 would probably have Sinister, I just find that movie so boring and weak. I think you definitely need The Conjuring on the list, it has one of the most iconic horror villains of recent memory with Annabelle and has become a sprawling franchise.

I still need to see It Comes at Night as well. Yet even though it has the big hallmarks of prestige horror, it will probably end up one of the obscure greats for the decade.

Unfriended was pretty crap and makes very little sense when you look into the film at all. The concept is cool and I think a film could make good use of it one day maybe.

I would move Don't Breathe and You're Next to definites.

The Phantom Pain let me down big time, it should've been the cap to an amazing series but instead it was bogged down with repetitive missions and a startling lack of story and interesting characters.

I remember being blown away by finally being able to play as the full roster of Tekken 3 after playing the demo for a long time (I was so excited to finally be Yoshimitsu), and then finding out you can unlock MORE characters.

I was blown away by games I wouldn't even play until later on, like watching my dad play FFX or my mom play the Resident Evil games. I was really impressed by the characters and graphics of those games.

Devil May Cry was the first scary game I played all the way through (I tried Silent Hill 1 & 2 a few times but never really got too far) and I remember being really impressed with the game's ability to frighten while still making you feel powerful. It's not something you may think of when horror comes to mind but it's certainly there.

I don't think I was impressed with anything story related until I played Metal Gear Solid, years after its release.
