While it's not suspension worthy by itself (although there's still the chance of your moderation history being so bad that it would warrant minor offenses resulting in heavy punishment), come on, you knew what you were doing. It is foolish to deliberately troll, get suspended and then complain, "Oh come on it wasn't that bad" right after, really. But I understand both sides of the argument, of course. A lot of NEETS are lazy slogs who are wasting their time, yes, but at the same time, a lot of people need to become NEETs. Life can get really overwhelming at times, and when a person is truly overwhelmed, you can't really fault them for taking a break from society. Most people start college at about 18, but making such a big jump at such a young age is risky; many people are likely to make mistakes when they're so young. Taking a few years off and starting college in your mid 20s does have its benefits. At that point, you'll likely be more responsible and mature, and thus more likely to commit yourself to 4 years of studying. When I was 17, I was really stressed out with a lot of shit, so I stopped attending public school. Ended up graduating from HS at 20; I'm lucky to have a full diploma and not a GED. A lot of people dismissed me as a bum for doing so, but I don't regret anything. I needed that break. Yes, I still fit most people's profile of an unproductive NEET. But I've become wiser and maturer; I no longer feel like the bitter teen I once was. I think I'll go back to attending school in the not too far future. Simply put, a person's worth isn't determined by only their productiveness. Just because you're productive doesn't mean you're a good person. The fact that being gay is seen as being comparable to an overly promiscuous person is extremely insulting. As long as your child is living responsibly and healthily, who even cares what they're into as long as it's not nasty shit like pedophilia or bestiality? There's nothing wrong with being into the same sex. People stereotype gays as feminine perverts, and they're wrong. People can like men and be plenty masculine. People can like men and not be perverted. Sexual perversion and gayness are two different things. There are perverts in any sexual orientation. And in one of the videos, on the subject of a gay son, one tool asks, "What if your son tries to flirt you?" SMH, what? Does a mother have to worry about her straight son flirting her? Does a father have to worry about his straight daughter flirting him? Again, being gay isn't the same thing as being a pervert at all. Most people, regardless of their sexual orientation, aren't sexually attracted to family members. Oh, and one dude also says, "I wouldn't want a gay son, because that says a lot about me. I raised him gay" What a dumbass. No, it actually says nothing about you. There is no "raising" someone gay. It's not like my parents taught me to be attracted to women. I picked it up naturally. I'm tired of people treating gays like they're circus freaks. But that's actually not the main issue I'm speaking about here. People need to stop being so controlling of their children. Your child is not you. This doesn't apply to just sexuality, but plenty of other things in general. As long as your child is healthy, responsible and doing nothing that's truly wrong, they can do whatever they want. Many children grow up to become mentally ill adults because of control freak parents. That shit needs to stop, fam. --- GameFAQs is my LIFE. |
