Here is the difference, Caesar actually did stuff. Fought and won battles. Was brilliant politician and team builder. A better comparison to Musk would Pompey Magnus, who mostly did nothing but claim credit for other people's victories and when he did actually get something done he blew it way out of proportion. Which is why when him and Caesar came to blows Caesar won.

This sets a bad precedent. I don't think they'll get to a point where they'll execute someone for shoplifting. But I could see them extending this even further. Maybe they'll extend it to cases of extreme domestic violence or repeated acts of animal cruelty. Again, I wouldn't mind seeing such people gone. But, if state-sanctioned executions are to be a thing, I think that's outside the reach of what is altogether justifiable.

But what does worry me is the thought of executing "terrorists." Suppose a member of a protest rally puts a brick through a window. Suppose a few of the protestors punch and kick a police officer who attempts to make an arrest before other protestors hold them back. Suppose a courtroom claims that everyone at the protest was a domestic terrorist -- even against evidence to the contrary. And, suppose that, because she's the only one whose face was clearly seen on camera, a 32-year-old mother of 3 is sentenced to death as an example of what happens when someone fights back against the system.

That's something to be worried about. This is Florida's government testing the waters by extending the death penalty to the least sympathetic group possible. Once that door is opened, there's no telling how far it could realistically go.

This is absolutely the point of this. Look at the extremely broad use of the term "domestic terrorism" in Georgia over the Stop Cop City protests. This is always how fascists get their shit done at first.

Congrats, I've always loved that show. Great characters arcs-- I loved how G'Kar & Londo in particular played out, between the hatred, rivalry, and grudging respect by the end.

Back in early March I had to have 3 discs fused in my neck so I've been off work during my recovery. I finally got around to watching Babylon 5. I had watched it off and on back when it originally aired, mostly whenever they would do marathons on TNT but I never got to watch it in order or see most of it.

The first season feels a bit rough but it's clearly a crisis or issue of the week series as they build the world. The seeds are laid for the larger plots but most of them don't kick off till season 2. Once season 2 hits you can easily see the roots of the heavily serialized shows that came later like Lost and Battlestar Galactica in it though. Long character and story arcs that take multiple seasons to resolve and stuff like that. Long term consequences for the choices and decisions that the characters make.

I felt like the character of Marcus was an unnecessary addition. I did enjoy the twist of the Vorlons turning out to be just as bad as the Shadows, I did not expect that. Instead of a multi-millennium struggle against a recurring evil entity it was essentially just a proxy war among ancient beings who had long since forgotten why they hated each other. It also felt weird that what had been the primary plot of the series was resolved in the 6th episode of season 4. It worked, it just seemed a weird place to do it. I get it though, it left the rest of the season to resolve the hanging plot thread of Earth still being run by Shadow tech backed fascists.

All in all it was an enjoyable show and I'm glad that I finally got around to watching it.

Problem was that most of them were jobbers or scrubs that only had jobs because they were friends were Hall,Nash, Hogan, or Savage. Their roster was just bloated. That's and it got way worse after the Wolf-Pac split off.
