The generational shift will be damning to Israel in the coming decades. The older generations still get all their propaganda from the legacy media, but younger generations are seeing the true face of Israel and once seen it can never be unseen. The current generation won't forget. They'll always see Israel now as a genocidal racist apartheid state that has complete contempt for international law.

I firmly believe that Israel knows this, understands it, and because of it knows their timeline to kill as many Palestinians as possible/take as much land as possible, is limited the era when boomers still control American politics.

I firmly believe that if we make it through the coming storm of Trump and the GOP's shift towards Fascism as their core ideology (instead of just paying lip service to it) that support for Israel will be a poison pill for politicians. Even accounting for a percentage of Gen Z growing more conservative as they get older (which I don't think will happen, most Millenials have all gone harder left as we've gotten older) the youth overwhelmingly opposes Israel's policies.

If Israel wants to be an authoritarian ethnostate at constant strife with it's neighbors because it's built on a giant graveyard then it can do so without the help of the US anyone else.

The original 2 state plan was from 1947 and it was not accepted by Arabs in Palestine or the neighboring Arab League countries because even though only a third of the population was Jewish and the Jews owned only 10% of the land in Palestine, they were given 55% of the territory. For new players it can be. There's a questline pre-requisite. But once you finish that, you need to go into 1 of 3 military silos that will throw hundreds of security robots at you while you slowly break through the security clearances and make your way down.

The average time to do all of that solo is about 15-25 minutes. With no experience though, some players take over an hour. But usually, launching a nuke is done to trigger one of the bosses, not to grief players.

Yeah, despite all of the hate it got at launch, it's a good game now with a very friendly community. I started playing it in 2023 and when I started, this random high level player gave me a ton of stimpacks, radaway, purified water and a gun with some ammo. And there are a lot of stories of new players getting free goodies like that.

Yeah when I still played at the end of every session I would dump all the ammo I picked up for guns I didn't use and give it to new players. One time a dude got like 1500 .38 rounds because I was clearing out space.

Gave out tons of stimpaks and shit like that as well.

The concept of something like neuralink isn't a terrible idea. Human brain/machine interface will absolutely happen. Technologically it's inevitable.

Which is a fair point but ultimately while you can argue the parallels between reality and fiction there is still that big elephant in the room.

People in real life dont have Magnetos powers or really the powers of any mutants, which is kind of where a large issue lies here and why the fear and bigotry kinda works in both humans favors and mutants favors as a means of a never ending conflict between the two. (It is also not helped that the Marvel universe is set up on this hypocritical system of hating mutants where as other super powered beings dont see nearly if at all the same level of hate against them)

I think thats one thing DC kinda does right in a lot of their shows and media more so from the Justice League. Most of humanity and the leaders big concerns with the JL is more the fact they have the potential to go rouge and become an unstoppable force so they have to think of countermeasures to have a means to defend themselves.

Marvel tried to sort of rectify that with their original Civil War arc. The explosion putting the hatred onto all powered beings, not just mutants but then they handled the rest of the story in as dumb and hamfisted a way as they could come up with.

So that's always been the quandary of the Magneto character. Ultimately he wants what is best for mutant kind. He doesn't care about humanity, because humanity doesn't think of him as one of them.

It's what makes his Jewish heritage very important to the character. He lived through what the Nazis did. They were only a small portion of humanity but the thing is, no one cared. Not a single country on earth was fighting the Nazis because of what they were doing to the Jews. If the Nazis hadn't been hell bent on invading all of their neighbors, no one would have given a shit. Countries, knowing what the Nazis were doing, turned away Jewish refugees. Sent them back to be slaughtered, because they didn't fucking care. So even though it was just a small portion of humanity committing the holocaust, the rest of the world shared responsibility because they did nothing. That doesn't mean individuals didn't try and help, but the Nations of the world, and humanity as a whole failed in every sense of the word.

If you are walking down the street and you see someone getting the shit kicked out of them and say "not my problem" and keep walking, you now share part of the responsibility for that beating. Neutrality only ever benefits the oppressor, not the person being oppressed.

So in the mind of a man like Magneto, with his experiences, you can see where he might be able to justify in his mind what he does. "These people are trying to do what the Nazis did and everyone else is going to let them, just like with the Nazis. What they are doing is benefitting my would be oppressor, so that gives them a share of the responsibility for their crimes. So why should I mitigate my force against my murderers to protect those who don't care if I get killed. Especially when they don't even think of me as human".

And I can't say that were I Magneto, with all of his life experiences, I would feel any differently. It doesn't make him right, but it sure as fuck doesn't make him wrong in his reasoning.
Again, we aren't supposed to have an easy answer. If I had to guess Claremont's goal was simply to get people to think and try and do better.

You can look at Magneto and say "He's right, but he's also wrong". You can look at the humans and say "I get where they are coming from, it would be easy to be afraid of mutants when they could kill us all, but maybe genocide isn't the right solution".
