Russian soldiers have guns, tanks, and planes. These reservists are being issued weapons when they are called up. They should turn them on their leaders rather than raping and murdering Ukrainians.

The Republican elections board commissioner in upstate Rensselaer County was arrested Tuesday on charges of carrying out a brazen ballot scheme that allowed him to cast votes in voters names.
Jason Schofield applied for absentee ballots for voters who did not want to vote, and, in some instances, personally pushed voters to sign absentee ballot envelopes, positioning himself or his associates to commit voter fraud in primary and general elections in 2021, according to court papers.
The 12-count indictment charging Schofield said ballots were counted from at least four voters who were instructed to sign ballot envelopes but were not allowed to complete them.
Schofield was able to vote or have other people vote in the RVs names, said the court papers, using an acronym for registered voters.
The nine-page indictment was filed last Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York.
Schofield, 42, of Troy, N.Y., faces up to five years in prison on each of 12 counts of unlawful possession and use of a means of identification, according to the U.S. attorneys office in Albany.
He maintains his innocence, Danielle Neroni, his lawyer, said by phone Tuesday afternoon.
The Albany Times Union reported that Schofield was arrested by the FBI on Tuesday morning outside his home, and entered a not guilty plea at court in the afternoon.
Schofield was released pending a trial scheduled before Judge Mae DAgostino. He declined to comment as he left his arraignment hearing, according to the Times Union.
The Times Union reported that he was subpoenaed earlier this year in connection with a sweeping ballot probe that has also led a Troy city councilwoman to plead guilty to a count of identity theft.
The Rensselaer County Board of Elections did not immediately return a request for comment. The elections board is located in Troy, about seven miles northeast of downtown Albany.
Rensselaer County, a swing county, went for former President Donald Trump in the 2016 election and President Biden in 2020.

My OG favorite ride from when I was a kid is Tower of Terror but Rise of the Resistance was pretty fucking awesome. Building a lightsaber was a cool experience as well.

We were there mostly for the Epcot International food and wine festival. Parks were crowded but not insane. I've been there when parks are full to capacity, which is insanity.

Like a quarter of even the most "live" aikijutsu is literally just "do x from seiza". It was mostly a waste of time, but it did kinda sorta help once.

I have the same feeling about the game. The running back and forth is a pain, and the columns system of battle is a bit annoying but overall I enjoy the game.

Really the value I see in the draw techniques is more because for most of the samurai class's existence, swords were a last resort weapon, so it makes sense to me you'd develop ways to draw and attack at once if someone got way too close for the bow and arrow or spear.

It depends really on the time period. Samurai were different things depending on the period of time we are talking. But generally yes, the spear and bow were the primary weapons. Katana was your backup weapon on the battlefield. It was also your walking around your property/town weapon. Protection from being assaulted off the battlefield.

As someone who has practiced various schools of Iai over the years it's essentially worse case scenario swordsmanship. Made for situations wherein you are ambushed or otherwise disadvantaged. The only real advantage it provides is for when your opponent has already committed to an action and you are countering it, having trained specifically for that scenario.

Japanese martial arts are full of weird Koryu Ryus that train your for really specific scenarios. There was one whose name I can't remember where it was specifically a series of techniques for what to do if someone tries to kill you during the Tea Ceremony.

Also if the soldiers decide to turn and run, it puts themselves and their families at tremendous risk.

One of the things that caught my eye in the trailers was the Senate Council room in the background.

And hopefully we get more into the cloak and dagger nature of the kind of work that the rebels were doing.

First of all, the setting and music is very good. For 1982 it seemed like it was made recently. So that is #1. But my gosh the movie is quite slow. Also the plot-holes in the movie made me kinda "wtf".

The lighting and cyberpunk setting were great. I DID NOT understand the ending however, when Roy saves Deckard. That was very odd. I guess he was showing that Replicants are better than humans and show more mercy?

Very drab movie - dark the entire time - raining the entire time - crowded with tons of people. Really got the point across. I need to watch BR 2049 now.

Depends on who you ask but the usual concensus is that Roy knew he himself was dying and wanted to prove his own humanity to Deckard by being merciful.
