I asked my mom to help me find someone. Someone who can help me more than my last therapist.

Best of luck. Take it seriously. A therapist is capable of giving you doors to those friends IRL. A therapist will know other patients who have been bettering themselves and should know resources other locals have used to overcome the ruts that you yourself are experiencing.

Don't be afraid to tell them that you want to meet new people but just don't know where to start. I am sure they will have some suggestions.

Yes. For safety and respect of the other person as well.

If you tell and they stay, the fear of it all is gone and the trans person can be who they are without worrying of being "caught." There would be no concern about whether they'd love you if you came out, and they'd know you are incapable of children from the get-go.

If you tell and they don't stay, the trans person dodged a bullet.

If you don't tell and they stay, you live in secrecy every day of your life worried about every little giveaway to your identity. You trap yourself to someone who in private, might physically harm you or even kill you upon finding out. While the "gay panic" defense is bullshit, people who won't take it will WILL attempt to murder a trans person, and this is not a risk worth taking.

If you don't tell and they don't stay, then you again, dodged a bullet.

All in all, it's far better telling anyone you plan to date. Don't have to tell friends, but a lover will find out eventually.

Duncan. Why do you do this to yourself? You can make friends IRL in many other ways. Go (if you aren't still in it) back to school, get a job and make friends with co-workers, join a meetup.com group and find similar likings with locals, and so on. Maybe even just as much as grabbing a pair of ice skates or a bowling ball, getting out there in public, and let general conversations come your way.

You might not mean any harm or to come off as creepy, but it really does for many people. You have to hold back.

And for starters, people don't generally get attracted to conversations when you talk depression. Bring up engaging topics. Music. Hobbies. Crazy happenings. Family. Work. Events you have planned coming up..... or even better, ask the other person about themselves and listen to them instead. If you just reach out to people and use them as a wall to talk about depressing issues, that pushes people to a "yikes.... well, I gotta get outta here" state of mind.

The more active you are on watching out for selfishness, the better you'd be as a friend. The moment someone tells you about their day and you say "Well, mine was worse" opposed to "How so, do you need to talk about it?" .... You just take the conversation away from them.... involuntarily.

Just, think about it from someone else's point of view. As they say, try to walk 1000 miles in someone else's shoes. If you got those messages you sent to GPG, how would you respond to them? If you were her. Seriously. Stop, think about it, and tell me. How would you respond?

Not at all. The religious are being empowered and being told they are being threatened as a result of the lowering numbers. With all that is left being extreme religious nut jobs, they are being highly vocal and threatening to others.

You say this but religion has been on a downtrend on all fronts for years yet people's happiness is also on a downtrend while depression rates are going up. Life is far more complex than you make it out to be as removing one part clearly isn't making the world a better place.
