There very well could be, I took him for his word that all that was PM'd was the joke about being creepy and SSN.

I mean, asking for social security numbers, even as a joke and sending that to someone who has had a bunch of weird DMs sent to them no less is a pretty bad-sounding idea.

Nothing wrong with that. You just gotta make sure to speak up if you don't get someone who clicks with you. Give it a chance first tho. If you build resentment or distrust towards a therapist, then it'll never work anyway. And there are some shitty ones out there, just like in any profession.

In that case, good luck. The main thing with therapy is generally, they'll try to give you tools to help interact with the world in ways you normally haven't been able to. Keeping calm, introductions, trying to get their Facebook or whatever to chat later.

Best of luck. Take it seriously. A therapist is capable of giving you doors to those friends IRL. A therapist will know other patients who have been bettering themselves and should know resources other locals have used to overcome the ruts that you yourself are experiencing.

Don't be afraid to tell them that you want to meet new people but just don't know where to start. I am sure they will have some suggestions.
