Well I grinded out all the online challenges, they were pretty easily done over 2 days.

Quickplay was miserable and I hated every second what a dreadfully painful slog.

The arena, however, was chill af with voice chat. I foind a few guys with voice chat and we just rotated one on ones while we shot the shit. Its a super flawed mode since if you want to change characters or switch stages youre sent to the back of the queue and forced to skip spectating, but damn did I enjoy it. I could have easily racked up 200 of these battles.

Another weird thing, Im finding myself facing the same players I played earlier, but its always on the same stage as the first time I fought them (this poor little mac main keeps facing me on venom)

Also is anyone encountering a glitch where you lose your character costume for some matches online?

Actually I wish I had known there was nothing to spoil aboit world of light before I played it. It made me rush through so I wouldnt get spoiled, but theres nothing there. No more character cutscenes, no secret bosses beyond a pallet swap of one, and the last boss is essentially just the games boss rush mode.

Oh for sure they dont belong on the bottom three. Twilight princess through spirit tracks was a dark time for zelda (maybe skyward sword too, I didn't play it)

I like the oracle games better, but awakening isn't really the same, while the oracles are an all you can eat buffet of features and gimmicks that work incredibly well, awakening is a perfectly portioned piece with a satisfying conclusiom.

I would say don't trust anyone who puts one drastically above the other imhhhhhhho

Online stages dont use my music preferences, which sucks because a strangely high set of people use FD, and the default fd song sucks. I want to listen to fighting polygon dammit.

Level 9s are way easier than 4, which is a bummer (Although I guess they were cheating in 4) but it stinks being able to triple a level 9.

I've been going through world of light with the following rules:

Find a new fighter, use that one until you unlock the next

Use only primary spirits from that series (ice climbers has no primary spirits)

Its challenging, but doable, and makes world of light more interesting than being giant and using a c stick move once

And when editing it, IT STILL FORCES YOU TO RENAME IT. How can a game with so much effort put into it get this basic thing so extremely wrong

I once again want to state how dumb it is that I have to repick my character and prefered color EVERY match. Whyyy can't any smash game get interface right (except smash 3ds)

Its actually super cruel that the one smash game with good interface is the one thats almost impossible to play with friends

Im always happy to get a contest, even if this was the least interesting one we've had since I've been here. Also seems like the least invested sballen has ever been.

I really didnt like not being able to see the results on the front page, and hated how I couldn't see the match pics after I voted.

My favorite moderation was getting suspended by linking to a gamefaqs image from the game that has what was essentially full frontal lolicon. Pretty sure that image is still up!

Breath of the wild> spirit tracks> ocarina of time for the top three.

Botw zelda is just so human with so little, she takes the title fairly easily. Dead Zelda is fun as a cartoon character, and OoT zelda is really "pretty darn good" across all fields

Rex was easy for me. After thirty tries i just used the giant spirit and stood in the corner spamming mii sword fighter's wind tornado. Took them out in seconds.

Nitpicks:

-went through all the taunts and all the new ones are boring as heck. Richter says "prepare yourself" which is what two fighters already say. Daisy went from most hyped character to "eh" because of her lack of taunts

-changing rules is such a hassle now, why not just create a memory system of last settings used? Smash 4 had it but it conviently forgot to keep stock matches as default. Seriously i have no idea why smash is always trying to push timed matches

-stage hazard switch is so tone deaf. Just give us a boss switch. No one ever cared about a moving platform, but we all hate the yellow guy who takes up 1/3 of the stage with the best music.

-why do i have to repick my skin every time I fight? Save preferences under user! Also having to repick my character every match is annoying

Sora is such an unlikely character. Like if you look at the spirits in world of light its like this huge party of all different game companies, and there's literally nothing from Square. Konami, Namco, Sega, Indies, have tons of music and square has two unremixed songs.

I personally really hope its not sora (not just because he's a bad character) because the money Nintendo spent on him could probably give us three characters from other companies.

Pretty upset that not only does Daisy not have "Hi, I'm daisy" but she doesn't even have a single vocal taunt. What the heck? Why even bother putting Daisy in if you're going to have peach's taunts be more annoying.

Pretty disappointed with all new taunts tbqh. Brawl still has the best ones. Was really hoping chrom would have "pick a god and pray"

The higher the level, the better your boost in stats is, right?

I just like leveling up my favorite characters even if its wildly pointless. Like I'm just happy to have Olaf from advance wars on my team in some form even if its just a jpg. Having a tauros attached to my mii fighter makes it feel so much more personal.

Anyway this doesn't answer your question but I wanted to gush about how much I like the spirits. They could have done more with them, but I really like what they are.
