I literally can't think of a single piece of a microsoft software that deserves this less. It's probably the only thing microsoft has ever done in it's entire company history that might be classified as "beloved"

I guess better to go out as a historic piece of software than to get boggled down with whatever MS does to programs nowadays.

The thing at the end isn't really even that important and necessary to the game. It's nothing more than something that's a little bit neat.

It'd be like saying you couldn't port metal gear solid to a device without a controller because you won't get to see psycho mantis move the controller. Sure it's a little bit of a shame to miss out on but it's literally meaningless to the entire game as a whole

Most recently, gamefaqs mobile has been shooting out two loud high screeching sounds in quick succession.

It's funny because what drew me to gamefaqs in the first place was the fact that it was such a simple text based site that it could load on even the lowest, most dismal internet speeds.

Ironically, now that internet speeds aren't an issue, gamefaqs is slower and harder to use than ever.

Valkyria Chronicles is one of those bizarre games where everyone else's idea of what makes the game good is opposite mine. It gives the feel of a SRPG but a lot of the "RPG" parts aren't fleshed out and there's no real "Strategy" as much as a fairly stirct path to follow in 60% of the battles.

The second was much better organized, but it suffered from being on PSP and a considerably bad plot. Even still, I would say it was much better than the first.

If everyone is hating on the new one, maybe it's worth checking out

Spelunky Pro tips for beginners:

ALWAYS carry something to throw; rocks, frogs, mice all work.
ALWAYS assume there are enemies in the pots
Jetpack is ALWAYS worth stealing
Once you get to the ice caves, it's fine to steal from the shopkeeper. He won't survive most of the ice/temple levels at the exit (and risk in the temple is so high, his presence doesn't make much of a difference)

xenoblade x had a fantastic story.

It was just also hampered by the god awful story surrounding the main characters. The real story is the tale of the day to day human/alien interactions in New LA. There's pages and pages of deep meaningful dialogue and it's very subtly put.

Sadly, instead of following the interesting adventures of the different alien races, the story follows kos-mos 2, potato jokes, unimportant alien, and.... I literally can't remember the rest of the playable characters because they were so dull.

I kinda get what kenri is going on about, but biology is a bad analogy because it's messy and not very static.

Instead use Geology!

So sex is basically like Sand and Silt. You can go to a beach and recognize sand or go to a river and recognize silt, but there's no clear defined line between them. There's no specific weight or grain size where sand becomes silt. This isn't really a problem 99% of the time because most people think they can tell the difference between the two.

But what do we do about the exceptions? Thats where we seem to get into shakey ground. My general attitude would be to say "fuck it" and flip a coin, but that doesn't lead to consistency.

So basically you have a bunch of sand-silt people running around being defined by other people instead of themselves because we created a lazy category system based on "Eh, we'll figure it out" I see the inherent problem, though I also appreciate the vagueness and non-rigidness of such systems (like how we got L-block into a character battle)
