But I feel like this wasn't an accident, it was to see if the real alert worked. Obviously they can't admit it because of the widespread panic it caused. That makes no sense at all. Real alerts and test alerts work the exact same way. The only difference is the message you type in it. To test the system they would send it the exact same way, only they would mention it's a test, instead of saying specifically that it wasn't a drill. --- |

The second date on the case for sexual exploitation of a minor is one of the times he went back to have this resolved. They did not arrest him, nor did they issue a bench warrant. If you've followed his stories over the years, and can generally recall the times he's moved, you will note that they line up. Had he flown the jurisdiction, he would have his bail revoked and the judge would have issued a bench warrant for his arrest. And he would have been extradited on one of the the multiple times he was arrested in Maryland. Or at least held in connection to the aforementioned crime. Instead nothing happened. You honestly don't think Maryland would have shipped him back if they could have? Made someone else deal with him? --- |

Secondly, he did not flee the jurisdiction at all. The DA refused to have him arrested, but also wouldn't clear the charge. (Personally, I think this was because Dustin pissed them off the way he often does with folks, and even though they had no evidence to take him to court, they could still allow this to float over his head. Disgusting, but apparently not illegal if you can't prove why the case wasn't dismissed.) Third, the assault charges you linked to have nothing to do with this, and the charges were dismissed. --- |

The Emperor sensed that Luke was going to go for the light saber. And he knew Vader would defend him. If there was any doubt in his mind before that point, he would not have allowed it to happen. Up until the point of Vaders protection of his son, everything had gone as he had foreseen that it would. The Emperor didn't just sit there oblivious what was going on. He placed the light saber right were Luke could get to it then told him to go for it. That was all part of his plan. --- |
