But yeah, a shoe-horned in pretty boy main character who has no bearing at all on the plot; instead of either the princess trying to save her kingdom or the knight sworn to protect her. One of the most idiotic progression systems they ever devised where you need to pay skill points for every single item upgrade, rather than perhaps just a tier of hats or something. Some MMO-like fun moments of badass level 50 juggernauts wandering the level five zone. It's funny how many people complained that the game played itself. It really didn't--but it did pave the way for FF13 which did play itself. I mainly used it to automate buffing up and healing after combat. --- "But don't give up hope.
