There's a sweet game shop in the 'big' city close by that has a great selection of arcade games to play. There's always chill folks of all ages hanging out there, which I really love. Great community spot. I'm back living with my parents in the small town I grew up in 30 minutes away, and there's dick all for kids to do in this suburban craphole. An arcade would be great.

I do both. I've traveled through some countries (Japan, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Iceland, USA, I'm from Canada), and I definitely do both in spurts. I'm a person who really enjoys my downtime, but I love to get out and do exciting things, like hikes and bike/motorbike trips. I read way more books while I was traveling through Asia than I normally get around to. Got through 8 books in 2.5 months, not bad!

I enjoyed it, but I'm rather permissible with goofy fun children's movies. There are enjoyable parts of II and III, but they mostly bunged the prequels with goofy CGI, goofy plot, and goofy acting. The Plinkett reviews are more enjoyable than the movies themselves. I enjoy the original trilogy, but honestly find all three of them rather slow and plodding. Still, that's how old movies are - it's just more noticeable for me, because, be real, Star Wars is just a fun sci-fi romp with some light heaviness thrown in. This is my own dumpass perspective, much like everyone else's.

The new movies have been cheesy, but fun. Sure, I get why people don't like certain plot choices, but I loathe people that take that sort of thing seriously. It's a fun movie. Get over it! I've liked the past 3 new movies about equally.

I'm fine with people having abortions, based on the fact that the majority of abortions are early early in the pregnancy. According to all evidence I see, a fetus doesn't have the neural development to feel pain until around 27 weeks (6-7 months). I've heard accounts of women being made to carry a child to term that had no chance of survival, and died a painful death at 11 weeks. Sure, if someone has even had 2 abortions in a short time, they should be entered into an educational program, as further preventative action. Less abortions would likely occur if a great many states implemented FAR better sexual education in schools. I've heard accounts of people I know who attended school in Texas, and received very little sexual education. Living in British Columbia, I received general education on different methods of contraception, and we definitely see less teen pregnancy than Texas, Louisiana, etc. Not to say that our programs don't need major improvement (lots of fearmongering on STIs, but that's good too), but the stats on teen pregnancy are pretty obvious for states with poor sex ed. Kinda perpetuates a cycle.

I can see this from both sides, but I think the pro-lifers are generally worse at 'seeing it from both sides'. I do have some wonderful friends that would personally never get an abortion, but understand that other folks have different views. Sure, you're entitled to your own views on your own body, but folks need to understand there are serious problems with poverty and lack of education perpetuating problems with high abortion rates.

'Social Justice Warrior' is a stupid term, that is often used to diminish actual points being made, points often based on methodical research and evidence. Online memespeak, not really useful for making proper points and arguments. Yes, there are people on the left that present false evidence, distort reality, and omit wrongdoing on their own end. A great lot of the political systems of North America and elsewhere are quite corrupt, and guided by stupid people. I am still apt to choose Conservatism-lite (Liberals, here in Canada, and fairly so in the USA too) over Puritanically influenced Conservatism, push towards a breaking of party lines, and the election of better educated, less reactionary members of government.

As for the original question...YES. Woop woop!

I'm a male, and I've dealt with power-tripping adult male dillholes most places I've worked, and I just got one fired at my current job. Everyone still puts up with abusive ****ty people far too often. I believe it that Hollywood is full of mostly male assholes (still dealt with a lesser percentage of female assholes), as much of the world is. Self-hating racism. Also, I don't think it's based on 'Xenophobia' all that often. For example, someone can believe that (insert race/culture/religion) is superior to (insert other race/culture/religion). Or that another isn't 'fully human' or whatever else. They're certainly not afraid of anything, just seeing it as inferior to them.

These are all good points!

I think you're right, but I also think that sometimes said belief that a certain race is better than another may be influenced by outside political pressures of a xenophobic nature. Human beings when put into positions of power start believing some pretty zany garbage, it would appear to seem.

Xenophobia has largely been encouraged post-WWI as a means of political control over the uneducated peasantry. Fascists did it, Communists did it, Capitalists do it!

The general population seems to be very impressionable, in the past, and in the present! After all, why should the German people have felt "xenophobic" towards the Jewish people? They were Jews that had lived their for centuries, if not a millennium. This too was the same with Jewish Communists tried in show trials in Eastern Bloc states of the USSR in the 1950's - the Jews were painted as cosmopolitan wanderers devoid of a Fatherland, although many had lived in their respective countries, states, for their recent histories.

This is a complicated topic, yet we're arguing like children!!!

I'm not a fan of ImmortalityV's thought process. A social construct may be illogical, but still socially prevalent. Something being a social construct ("white" people) doesn't negate the existence of actual consequences (white privilege), good OR bad, from transpiring, on account of the social construct.

Being a "hippy" is a social construct, but "hippy" culture influenced aspects of the 60s. Post-WWII Soviet Communism (Stalinism) was a social construct, but it influenced everything in the USSR for the better part of a century.

Be proud of your heritage, where your people are from, the foods they make, the culture you share with them. But know that your and my white ancestors benefited from the brutal subjugation of people of color. You don't have to personally feel guilty about it, because as an adult, you should be able to separate your emotions and your thought process on historical matters.

I don't think a lot of Conservatives got to where they are through "Survival of the Fittest" tactics, because economy, inheritance, historical property ownership, among other things, are more complicated than that. If "Conservatives" (this seems very blanket, I'm mostly addressing perhaps your own implied beliefs) believe in "Survival of the Fittest" and believe that individuals such as Donald Trump, Ben Shapiro (I could list liberals and other crappy classifications of people here too) got to where they are via those means, those individuals are willfully ignorant.

Survival of the fittest still exists, albeit in a very skewed and abstract way for modern humans. Oldschool survival of the fittest persists for the animal kingdom.
