I've traveled to England a few times, as well as France which also gets a reputation for being assholes to American tourists. Never had an issue in any country I've traveled to. If I had to guess, I'd say that anyone who was treated poorly in a "civilized" country they were visiting is most likely an asshole themselves, and were getting treated like the asshole they are. Nope, always travelled for work so I wasn't partying or anything crazy.
