Honestly 99% of the stuff I've heard about Antifa has been from Ulti/Corrik/Wang posts (Especially Ulti), so I just assumed it was some far/alt-right talking point/conspiracy nonsense label that they used to force a false equivalence/both sides do it argument whenever they got violently protested/counter-protested.

If they're actually a genuine thing, then yeah they're jackasses and shouldn't be allowed to do what they do unless they find a way to do it peacefully.

I don't support the Death Penalty, but then I also generally believe that Life Without Parole is a "harsher" sentence anyway, so to me you're just introducing a penalty from which there's no recourse if you get it wrong. Which you will, because people aren't perfect. To me, it only exists as revenge which shouldn't be what the justice system is about.

Yeah, my unprofessional opinion as the host that wasn't actually closely reading most of the game was that Plum's scan, at most, inverted the order of lynching between Scare/VI. Without it, I think that day probably would've been 70/30 in favor of lynching Scare, but I don't think it would've ended in any other outcome short of hilariously poor play on somebody's part (Or utterly brilliant play by Scare to get out of the lynch)

My thing with it is that you only get three roles. You can't use it to build a bigger picture of the setup, which (IMO) is the value in that role. At one use, I think Detective is infinitely more likely to confirm a player town than catch scum, because in your scenario the jack has no reason to doubt the existence of Town Vig based off his scan

Yeah. I agree that it was a bit much in retrospect, which falls on me for probably super underrating one-use Detective and Track.

I'd never have given that jack cop or watch though, because those are super valuable even at 1.

While this is true (Though it's not really the point I'm arguing - I'm not a fan of the way Gravy and SBell played the endgame for this exact reason), we'd still be in Day 8 unless the forced extra time changed something (e.g you could convince gravy to lynch)

I'm just saying that removing the NL-wins-ties rule (And by extension, the NL requires 50% instead of 50%+1 rule) would require a fundamental restructuring of tiebreaker rules

Balance was all me, actually.

The original setup had another vanilla instead of the Jack, but I looked at it, thought Town was slightly weak, and added a jack with three powers that I don't rate highly at one-use (I may be underrating one-use detective in particular, but I'm of the opinion that it's quite weak).

Even as-is though and having seen it in action, I still don't think the setup is worse than 60/40 or so for Town in theory, which brings it closer to 55/45 in practice in my experience. Which is acceptable if not ideal IMO.

NL winning tiebreakers automatically was sort of a holdover from the days before we allowed plurality lynch, I think. There's just never been a reason to change it before.

I mean, removing the rule won't solve a deadlock where two people want to lynch and two don't.

It'll just draw it out to 48 hours

Where NL will win the tiebreaker because the rule for what happens when the tie isn't broken is that day ends in no lynch <_<

No lynch only requiring 50% is an extension of NL always winning tiebreakers (Which, afaik, has been a standard rule since before I was playing) - If you have two guys on it that refuse to move, it becomes impossible to lynch, even if you let day expire.

My concern about letting the game hang indefinitely at 4 is that all three town have to agree to win the game, which seems like an incredible advantage for scum. If two town vote for the scum but the third votes for someone else, the game hangs.

If town actually uses its time instead of mindlessly NLing and refusing to play, it's doable

There's also the fact that the game practically won't hang very long in most cases because the players are all people. Somebody will get bored/impatient/frustrated and force something. That's why I chose not to force either side to move.
