I still enjoy 2D ones, though far less than when I was a kid.

I never enjoyed the 2D ones. The only platformer I ever enjoyed was Spyro.

Didn't like Mario, Crash, Bubsy, Gex or any other other platformers I played.

I think some of the older games like JRPGS. I preferred Action games compared to JRPGs, now I like JRPGS over action games. But I prefer ARPGS over JRPGS.

Why was there a FF8 land slide over SM64? SM64 is the pinnacle of the N64. SM64 has platforming, different obstacles, great music, fun level design. FF8's redeeming quality qualities is graphics. In FF8, for you to use limit breaks is that your hp has to down but from a gameplay perspective low hp means a high chance of getting a gameover. It's draw system is interesting and having more spells means an increase in stats if you junction magic but using magic in battle limits your stats. So using magic is counter intuitive.

I know this is FFVIII and not FVII. I'm not a big Zelda fan. I have nothing against Zelda. All of the Ps1 FF numbered games have received Greatest Hits so people probably like FF8.

Wow FF8 overtook Smash Bros, Golden eye, and was losing badly now in the league. I guess FF8 was supported by the silent majority. :)
My perdiction is that FF8 loses to Oot but OOt loses to FF9. Super Mario 64 is ether going to lose to Xenogears or make it all to FF7.

FF8 was the first FF game I bought. It was fun for a while. Smash is only fun with multiplayer due to its limited characters. Theres more to do in FF8. The single player mode gets tedious.

FF8 is an adventure game with graphics that were not blocky like ff7 was. GE007 had multi player and unlockable cheat codes. The problem I had with FF8 was that Squalls leveling increases the level of the enemies. However I do like you draw magic from enemies and sometimes enemies are weak to the same magic you drew from them.

Outside of the super overhyped tier of FF 7 and OoT, Goldeneye has got to be one of the all-time most overrated games there ever was. It's not a good shooter at all, but it had a lot of charm and was the first console FPS game to really take off, so the nostalgia is thick.

Wow one of the worst FF games defeated a Game that has the most popular characters at the time.
