TopicDid you have ice cream trucks where you grew up?

There was 1, and it was owned/operated by an asian lady. It was weird the one time we recognized her elsewhere not working the ice cream truck since she was the sole ice cream truck driver for as long as I can remember, and thus "hey, it's the ice cream lady". Once she stopped years ago, that was it... I think last year someone tried to restore the van into working, but that's about it.

@Purple_Cheetah I remember that thread. If I'm not mistaken, it was for Kingdom Come: Deliverance. There was controversy about it not having any diversity, and the phrase "Deus Vult" being included in a trailer, so resetera decided it was made by the alt-right and went nuclear on anyone who didn't trash it.

This is the only picture I could find, but it does show page 1 of the thread filled with bans

Then again, you might be thinking of another example. They have blown up over a bunch of games.
Possibly, it's also possible that it WAS Hogwarts Legacy after some thinking. As said they tend to do it if you don't follow the railroad.
"I was hoping to like this game, maybe it'll still be good." -Drive by atagonization-

Though if you just randomly toss on an insult/praise to the pile and contribute essentially bot behavior it's ok.

Email server administration on an isp is a fucking nightmare.
What's funny, is they were renting/using it from Google, so it had the old style Gmail ui and briefly blinked "google" when making the transition from the main site to the email management. All that really happened was losing an extra email inbox and the domain name in the email address.

I guess it mostly sucked for the ones that used it for all their site accounts, as changing/migrating all of those could become really, really... really annoying.

No, but some customer thought I worked there. Turns out I just so happened to be wearing a red shirt and khaki color pants when I popped into target. Thankfully she laughed about it and wasn't hostile, insisting I get my manager.

What in Garfield's name is this lol. So I have to use my private email? Nuh uh not gonna happen.
So I guess that means I literally couldn't even if I tried, lol. My ISP a few years ago decided to just ditch their mail service literally stating to just use gmail or outlook like everyone else.

Wtf is a boy's club rhetoric. Wtf is inflammatory drive by.
I actually kinda remember that thread when it happened. Since it's been years, I don't recall the exact game or context off hand, but it was people upset a game was scoring well despite some group disliking it. It predates Hogwarts Legacy by years, so not that, but it was similiar in that a VA wasn't actually lgbt or lacked such a character and thus a thread about how it was a bad game to not play it. The reasoning was damn petty, just can't remember what it was.

There were quite a few, like 7-10 banned there for saying "I'll probably still play it" or expressing even remote interest in hoping it'd be good.

I was considering a comment as to them being waste management. Then I remembered a one off "joke" I made decades ago regarding the actual waste management company that once serviced here. No actual offense to them, just a jab at their company naming based on someone else's poor insult.

BFI, big fucking idiots... Could apply that here.

Yeah, I don't post as much either, partially due to still taking care of 9 of the buggers along with personal stuff.

There's two cats recently, one is a cousin of theirs of sorts and belongs a street over based on his collar. I saw him as a kitten around here, but it's nice someone took him in as a pet. He's neutered and grown now.
Then there's a white and orange fluffy making more kittens next door... it keeps freaking these out and gotten into fights with Mystic and Cinder, but no real injuries. I suppose it's nice to know they beat up trespassers? I dunno.

Porn sites have already had the "are you 18" box for a long time, though I don't know if that has been voluntary.
No, it's required. I recall a few years back someone making a comment on their blog, that due to the content of their site they had to stick a simple tick box with "I am over 18" to comply with the law and avoid being taken down.

This mess is more complicated and has very little to do with protecting children, and more to do with more accurate tracking of what an individual is browsing, reading, viewing. As already stated, "for the children" is a blanket you can't argue against, as people will think you're a pedo/monster even if the law straight up makes it ok to abuse children, because majority don't look past the "it's to protect the children" part.

If it passes, then don't be surprised when VPNs are targeted next. This will also probably boil down to the site level. Meaning if you want to make an account to browse reddit or pop onto a blog site to read about the color blue, you gotta let billy no mates have your ID, a VPN will just make it look like you're in iceland while using a ohio license. I may be mistaken, but I read a vpn won't even work properly on a mobile device, it'll just ping the cell tower.

This is some next level denial. Even growing up in a Christian Mississippi family I didn't have to suffer this. I don't know, maybe I was lucky and dodged that bullet as there were some I did know that didn't allow TVs in their house and others calling Disney/Harry Potter the devil. Though now I'm starting to see other relatives starting families with similiar approaches.

At least you telling them to actually think for themselves and not blindly accept everything as fact, is far better than what my one niece told my other one...

Actually straight up taught her to actively rebel and disobey her parents, pop out a bunch of kids unmarried, and almost die quite a number of times resulting in lost of custody and health issues. She was totally fine until then, like one of those before/after meth addict mugshots. Great role model.

Adding to the lizard thing. I came across mention of a previous example of a female stingray or something else, simply mated in the past and just stored the sperm for much later. The male sharks biting could have triggered her to decide "It's time".

Though the headline of possible sharkray babies definitely gets more attention.

That's not how it works.... You build a flat foundation under a building. Buildings aren't curved.
Yeah but, here's the thing. Since the earth is subtly curved, most buildings aren't long enough to perceptively see the curvature. The closest we'll really get is a bridge, or massive hangar/tunnel. Maybe a mall that's large enough.

A house or skyscraper is usually too short in width/depth to be noticable as he percentage it covers is tiny compared to the visible horizon.

Ok, good, I'm not having low sleep crack theories and just having a "remember that this is a thing". I've just never applied it to small scale, such as a living room or house.

I hate this topic, because it's now made me seriously start thinking about something dumb as hell.

We all know floors and structures should be flat and level, correct? Are they actually just subtly curved, but we just accept they're 'flat' because a bubble and laser says so?

Thanks for putting that mostly irrelevant paranoia in my head.

Without looking at it in person, I wouldn't be shocked if it's for the following. To provide false padding to appear to others as if it's a normal functioning pocket, but it's still sewn shut because it's a non-functioning pocket.

I wouldn't put it past whoever made them for having that dumb idea, because it's the only thing I figure. If it was a pocket on the outside, and lacked something under it, you could easily tell it was a false pocket, so this is to make it seem legit, when it's not. Some total 4D chess shit.
