Ep 3 is the one that hooked me, with the sharp writing. From there, you've got mind-blowing episodes in 5, 6 and 8, and plenty of WTF revelation in 7. I mean, outside of the first 2 episodes which didn't fully grab me (but which will be incredible to rewatch), the whole series is strong. And while the treatment of Objectivism and American Exceptionalism is ultimately pretty thin, the Bioshock series makes a much stronger effort than most video games when it comes to incorporating philosophy. You gotta keep your hype in check considering the history of this series' marketing campaigns, but sure I'd love to hear more about a new Bioshock game. Its very punitive, the way the game wastes your time filling energy tanks back up. Cant blame anyone for putting it down because of that. What's great about the show is the way that the writing, editing, music, color grading, set design, etc, all come together to reinforce each other and build on the graphic novel. The show has its hooks deep in the source material and has all the same stylistic flare, yet at the same time feels totally original. It's a bummer that some viewers don't enjoy the show because they're offended by the "woke" themes, I guess. Television has matured as a medium and nothing will ever be able to do to TV what the Watchmen graphic novel did for graphic novels.
