On topic, I still haven't beat the game since I did it in that video, which was very unexpected, lol. I only recorded it to show how terrible the game is to me, and how much it cheats, but then I won. It knew! I always knew!

I also had Reaper, which combined with Necronomicon let me heal a bunch in several fights.

And Self-Forming Clay was doing a lot of heavy lifting.

blue candle costs a hp though, so you'd kill yourself if you overused it. Unless you have tungsten rod, which I don't see

Phantasmal Killer and Glass Knife on Watcher are fucking BONKERS

the most bonkers damage i've done with watcher is via conjure blade combined with divine stance and a deva form. Conjure blade is one of the two method's i've killed transient with (the other being poison stacking)

Still, i'd love to have glass knife on watcher. I'm pretty sure Glass knife is the best value single target damage card in the game.

Eh, my philosophy is that if you play it safe in act 1, you die in act 3.

eh, that's not really my problem, I always tend to aim for at least 2 elites in act 1, and often do 3 or 4 if I've got the health/deck to do it.

buying chemical x was probably the best decision i made this run. skewer, malaise and doppleganger are so much better with chemical x.

wrath stance doesn't really have a downside when you have necronomicon, calipers and 3 copies of wallop. calipers is a great relic when you can generate a ton of block.

What I mean is, I see someone give me advice like, "Use X and then do Y," when I'm reading that, I don't have a f'n clue which cards are being talked about. If I saw the cards, then I would have an easy time understanding what is being said.

would it help if i describe what a card does if i mention a card? if it does, i'll try to remember to do that.

goddamn. i wonder if this is the most damage i ever took on a winning run. i added it up. I took over 800 damage this run, a quarter of that damage was on the act 3 bosses alone, both of them did enough to kill me from full health.

I think the issue why you all can't help me is that I never know the name of the cards, lol. I only know what they look like. I have the same issue in Magic, I know all the cards by picture alone, but know almost none of the names. So when you all say things like, "Runic Pyramid + Storm Of Steel," I will forget as soon as I post this comment what they're called, and will never look them up in the game to see why it's such a great combo, lol

do you remember most of the effects, or do you have trouble remembering those too if you don't have the card on screen to read?

i hate that fucking Elite boss in the first floor. 3 of them show up, spam your deck with junk, and take forever to die.

kill the outside sentry with the lowest HP first, and the fight becomes way easier.

Alright, that's the heart beaten with every character. Of course, this is just A1. I don't know if I have the stamina to keep running through to reach the high tiers.

before i decided not to not do the heart fights, i had a thought to do it on certain level markers. i settled on on 4, 9, 16, 19 and 20. 4, 9, and 19 are the levels that you'll face all of the upgraded bosses on, going from 9 to 16 adds a bunch of misc. modifiers, and 20 adds the second boss.

Woop woop, took down the heart for the first time! Looking back on my run, I now realize just how lucky I got with relics to make the whole strat come together.

Miracle claw defect, fyi.

congrats. not a fan of the heart fight personally, so i've never beaten it over ascension 9 or so, despite just hitting 1100 hours in the game.

had a bunch of runs that ended in act 1, so getting a couple of wins felt nice.



Gotta love reaper. Took almost over one and a half times my max HP in damage.



bottled fasting + orange pellets is really nice. Gets even better when you throw in tantrum and talk to the hand. had a near perfect act 3 until I hit the boss, then took 55 damage on awakened one. Had a way easier second boss fight against time eater.

And in the case of christianity in particular, I find the concept of eternal hell to be so vile that I think God has got to be malevolent if he exists.

The "mysterious background" thing doesn't lend itself to prolonged exposure.

That's not something that I care about personally. I like to learn about characters history and what makes them tick.

Also wanted to add, while I don't consider her a top 5 character, I did think she was better written from her limited appearances than Troi usually was, and thought she'd have done better as a main cast member in place of Troi.

No, favorite character lists tend to be made up of major characters for me, or at least really memorable characters who get major focus for a season or arc.

Top 5 would probably be Picard, Data, Q, O'brien and Sisko. Q's kind of a running subplot, he's extremely memorable and he's usually the focus of the episode. Guinan tends to be a supporting character when she shows up.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to even consider it an isekai. I guess if you squint and use a really broad definition, but even if you do the MC is relentlessly optimistic, doesn't detest the world.

He literally gets teleported to a new world in the first episode. I'd argue you have an extremely narrow view of isekai if you limit it to the modern trends. Portal fantasy is a genre that goes back a long way.

Aside from that..
Shu is depicted as happy with his life in japan.
He definitely detests the world he finds himself in.
He has no powers.
He is not a badass.

He's not manipulative, but I don't think he's a shining beacon of morality either. He's trying his hardest to remain optimistic. i think he comes off as pretty desperate in some of his scenes with the soldiers of hellywood (and with sara).

Tanya does fit the manipulative role better, so its probably the better fit for what TC wants,

That said, i stand by NTHT as a recommendation, its a great show.

I grew up in florida and had literally no experience whatsoever with snow or icy roads. I'd never even seen snow irl, except a very light flurry that melted before it hit the ground when I visited my aunt/uncle up in new jersey.

The first time I drove in snow/iced over roads, I had to swerve into the oncoming traffic lane, ran a 4 way stop sign to avoid a rear end collision, and later wound up skidding into a thankfully empty intersection when i stopped (this was a bit later, not immediately after).

I've beaten A20 with Watcher three times, but only once with the other three characters.

heart or no heart? I was in the area of 6-12 A20 wins with each character(silent had 10-12, the rest were around 6-10), but I don't fight the heart. It probably would've been higher, but I stopped playing for awhile after beating A20 initially, than when i came back, I played on A16, then A19 for awhile, until i moved back up to A20.
