I'm sure the game could easily suck but it seems almost irresponsible given the influence that such non-reviews can have coming from a large publication.

I really didn't learn anything about the game itself outside of the story and its apparent factory-made feeling (yes, I get the joke). Why does he keep talking about inns? Is "lacking a soul" code for feeling generic? What kind of game is it really? Why is the combat unexciting? He says the characters are flat, but the way he describes them it's just typical RPG tropes that may go in many different directions. I could describe most RPG characters that way, even the best of them.

I guess I don't see the point in a half-washed 6-hour rushed first impression that Kotaku put out for hits.

This is a very poor article, I dunno. Six hours into an RPG is hardly enough to accurately review it imo. It isn't very exhaustive precisely because the reviewer didn't do an exhaustive play. I would expect a review like this from a random GameFAQs contributor, not a gaming publication.

man that message is like, really serious haha. if someone told me I made them uncomfortable I would get more anxious trying to find out wtf that means or at least just way more upset than usual. I prolly would've told her I wasn't feeling it that way but that I would be happy to keep in touch in a professional capacity, but maybe she was off enough that she needed to be told this way?

To whoever brought up Epona -- you have it backwards. Epona is the Baby Mario of Yoshi's Island, not the Yoshi.

It's a Yoshi game. At the time they weren't thinking of making Yoshi platformers a thing, most likely. Mechanics-wise, it sets the foundation for all future Yoshi games. Even in terms of art style, it set the standard for the different art direction that is staple to Yoshi series by now.

Sephy has been on point all along btw, although "feigning chastity" is opening a pretty shitty can of worms that isn't necessarily true. Women (generally speaking) enjoy to play hard to get and expect the man to fight for her through persistence and dominant behaviors. A man isn't a mind reader nor are they psychics; if the woman gives you a totally consensual blowjob you can't just guess that she felt uncomfortable through it or felt pressured to do it. You just assume she wanted to do it. And yes, the wine anecdote is just a small detail but also very telling of the story the woman is attempting to frame -- he was needlessly forceful even to go as far as not ask for her preferred choice of wine, and yes, it renders her account firmly into lol territory. If you aren't into the wine he got, just... speak up?

Aziz apologized because a) he did what the woman said he did, and b) because it's the politically correct thing to do. He played his cards and took it too far since he had a bad read on her. End of story.

Hasn't Rob himself confirmed that Jenna wins in that scenario tbh? Even then, strictly speaking, if you're voted out by someone, they won that chess game against you. Rob may talk a big game, but if he can't reach the end and Jenna can, Jenna is the better player in this instance. Jenna is a better player than Rob because Jenna beat Rob, know what I mean? Otherwise we're projecting people into situations and circumstances that never happened, and if that's the case, there's really no reason a plethora of players who never won or who lost at FTC wouldn't make a list like this. A player like Tony thus becomes an exception in a multitude of scenarios while a safer socially-oriented player would be at an advantage.

So yeah, there's a distinction between best games played and best players, imo. One considers the reality of the situation and the other considers the potential.

I've never been bothered by people asking where I'm from, personally. If anything, I kinda enjoy that they find it interesting and that it can provide some banal conversation to break the ice. I find it fun when they are surprised to know where I'm really from tbh. I get it in the sense that you're just struggling to find something to talk about at the start, it's just an easy go-to. Never even crossed my mind it could be obnoxious to some people and SD kinda hit the nail on the head as to why.

Reminds me of a time I asked a classmate with a French name if he was from France, and he got really pissed off, told me he was from Belgium and that he was sick of people asking if he was French. We never talked again, lolwhoops.

hell I got robbed at gunpoint, not even raped or assaulted, and some people thought I made it up for attention and I felt completely humiliated and dejected to where I didn't even want to contact the police. that would be a horrible experience for me, I would get nothing back from it, and I would have to spend time reliving something I want to forget. it is extremely simple to understand why a girl would feel that way.

I was robbed at gunpoint right outside my university when I was a teaching assistant. I had been carrying the exams since I wanted to spend that day in campus going over them. The professor said my story was highly convenient and fired me. The head professor of the department, who had recommended me for the position, shunned me and never talked to me again (I tried to keep the relationship and asked him for coffee at least a couple times). I could never be hired again as a teaching assistant because of my records.

It sucked a lot tbh.

these women are just greedy, literally putting their careers and professional success first like cowards over choosing to be the total nobodies who can denounce those douchebags in power and take them down lmfao, basically feminism in a nutshell XFD

it's just sad how they wait for others to speak, how about putting your career prospects and reputation on the line instead? grow a backbone already. call me when they stop following trends and actually act instead of pretending to go through all this victim dilemma bullshit, like I can literally type on a message board on gamefaqs that I was sexually harrassed and so can they! it's that easy.

all of these statements should be taken with a grain of salt. women are just trying to profit from social media buzz and virtue signal for attention. just pitiful. this is why liberals lost the election and will lose the next one.

Omniscientless
10/10/17 9:55:10 AM

Yes. HR often relates more to specific company policies anyway tbh.

There's a more "technical" side to HR (payroll, health and life insurance, pension funds) but I figure a part-time job will just have you coordinate, input or file HR requests and documents.

HR is however a fascinating field and the idea that there's no challenge or movement within it is false. Employer branding, talent acquisition, diversity, etc. often fall under HR and they are exciting topics for sure (imo). I have worked in HR consultancy in the past and it's challenging/quite interesting, and much more literature-heavy than you'd expect. I enjoy it.

People who are financially dependent on their parents but move out because of this weird peer pressure loser stigma is weird as hell to me. Most people move out of home young due to college being way far anyway, and if you are going to college wherever your parents live and still choose to move out, I hope your family's rich or else you're just really dumb. You really shouldn't be moving out until you have a stable job and savings to support yourself.
