Topic | Why is Black Widow in the Avengers for? |
Nemu 07/26/21 10:23:59 AM #32 | Yeah, the 2nd stringers really always felt like pointless filler. At least, Tony could have given them some tech to use to make them relevant. |
Topic | Anyone who thinks the Avatar sequels won't make bank is fooling themselves. |
Nemu 07/26/21 10:13:19 AM #9 | I think it'll do blockbuster well, but not cultural phenomenon well like the first one. That just had the perfect storm of new tech, decent story, and 3D hype to blast it to the moon. |
Topic | I didn't know Hollow Knight was an LGBTQ+ game. |
Nemu 07/25/21 7:24:32 PM #8 | I think there's a side quest involving a lesbian, but it's definitely not at all such a focal point that I'd ever classify it under that label. |
Topic | Is fencing a valid combat style? |
Nemu 07/25/21 11:20:29 AM #6 | With an actual weapon, yes l, though its hard to say how well itd translate to fighting another person trained in swordplay. |
Topic | Husband refuses to go to the birth of his first child because of work. |
Nemu 07/25/21 9:58:02 AM #37 | NullAndVoidFC posted... If you lose all that because of taking one day off, or even a week, or even a month, then you're a slave to your job. Maternity pay should also be standard. This isn't losing some easily replaceable McDonald's job. This is losing a career that cannot simply be easily replaced if the information in the hypothetical(?) is as presented. There are many "should be's" in the world, but that won't always reflect reality. |
Topic | Husband refuses to go to the birth of his first child because of work. |
Nemu 07/25/21 9:31:19 AM #34 | NullAndVoidFC posted... Work is a means to an end, the birth of your child is a reason you're working. If your job is "too important" to give you a day to see the birth of your child then job ain't worth shit. The priorities in this country are all wrong, people totally brainwashed into thinking the job is king, serving your boss is more important than serving yourself and your family. Shit is whack.I guess if you ignore mortgage/rent payments, car payments, utility payments, the large amount of money dedicated to setting up the house for a child, medical bills, the wife's income being zero until she can return to work (if she is), etc. |
Topic | Husband refuses to go to the birth of his first child because of work. |
Nemu 07/25/21 8:59:55 AM #25 | An on the fence job, necessary job is more important that a momentary family milestone. |
Topic | Making female character too female like is really an issue. |
Nemu 07/23/21 6:42:57 PM #53 | I'm kind of confused. Were they arguing about applying humanoid feminine traits to the character or applying what they considered to be overly sexualized traits to the character? |
Topic | Bill Gates says lazy people are the best employees |
Nemu 07/23/21 4:09:49 PM #6 | Theyll find an easy way to make you think theyre doing the job. |
Topic | One Piece sounds like a nightmare to watch nowadays. |
Nemu 07/23/21 3:44:25 PM #9 | MaxEffingBemis posted... Its Odas fault for taking his sweet ass time with the mangaNah, its the anime industry being unable to accept that the weekly anime rush is unsustainable. If they just took like a three month break per year they could have higher quality episodes and no filler, but of course that would drop sales. So they would rather just stick with mediocre. |
Topic | Is Wonder Woman 1984 a shit movie? |
Nemu 07/23/21 3:24:10 PM #37 | Its fine, but it feels like two different WW movies pasted together in a weird way. |
Topic | One Piece sounds like a nightmare to watch nowadays. |
Nemu 07/23/21 3:23:03 PM #2 | It has been horrible, horrible since Water 7. |
Topic | is it true He-Man is stronger than Superman? |
Nemu 07/23/21 2:43:24 PM #5 | Depends on the version for both of them. People seem to forget that a lot of characters have several or dozens of versions. |
Topic | What exactly is that Super Sayian Rage form in Dragonball Super? |
Nemu 07/22/21 4:06:14 PM #18 | Its just the video game trading card game giving random names to shit so they can market it easier. |
Topic | The Big Mac is the most disgusting burger ever. |
Nemu 07/22/21 3:45:56 PM #20 | I can get not at all preferring fast food, but I've never understood having actual disgust for it. |
Topic | do you agree that poc basically built the us? |
Nemu 07/22/21 3:38:07 PM #12 | I guess it depends on how literal you're taking the statement. They were exploited, abused, and murdered for an ungodly amount of time to provide immense amounts of labor, but they obviously weren't the only driving force in the development of the country. |
Topic | Dr. Dre has to pay his ex-wife $300K/month in spousal support |
Nemu 07/22/21 2:33:12 PM #9 | With the exception of "married 50 years, the wife literally has no ability to support herself, and the husband is extremely well off," spousal support is nonsense. Once she's gotten her share of the pie, she's on her own. |
Topic | Do you feel sorry for unvaccinated people who die from Covid? |
Nemu 07/22/21 12:43:27 PM #30 | Yes. If they're like super hardline ten thousand tweets about how it's going to cause the communists to take over, I can see someone giving no shits about such a person, but that's not going to be the majority of people affected by it. |
Topic | Family that started fire in CA via Gender Reveal charged with felonies |
Nemu 07/22/21 12:14:10 PM #15 | I guess guilt would depend on the instructions for the machine. If the machine is known to generate enough heat so as to cause a fire if set on/next to flammable materials, throw the book at them. If it's a case of a malfunction, then I just see it as a tragic accident that could have happened with any dumb vanity party. |
Topic | Women determine in the sex is safe or not |
Nemu 07/22/21 11:43:43 AM #26 | This is one of those intoxicated shower thoughts that don't make any sense when you sober up. |
Topic | Should police dashcam footage be freely and easily available to the public? |
Nemu 07/22/21 11:41:32 AM #7 | There should at least be channels in which requests can be made to have any video accessible after enough time, with some concessions made for privacy and ongoing cases. Though the ones making that determination should be an independent body with authority to supersede the police to release it if they deem it valid. |
Topic | smh @ these engagement pictures |
Nemu 07/21/21 4:16:09 PM #47 | At the very, very least, I hope it was his stupid idea and not her stupid idea. |
Topic | How bad was 1/6 on this vaguely outlined scale |
Nemu 07/21/21 3:45:35 PM #13 | The actual event itself was composed of 95% moronic hicks, so it was more of a 2/10. The implications of what could have happened had it been a properly organized, armed group of people would be more like a 6-8, up to a 10 depending on what happened. |
Topic | Real talk I watch the end credits of every movie now and its all mcu fault |
Nemu 07/21/21 3:04:26 PM #2 | Pretty sure there are literally websites out there dedicated to documenting the existence of after credit scenes. |
Topic | Is it true that we don't definitively know how eels reproduce? |
Nemu 07/21/21 3:02:42 PM #4 | It involves aliens and magnets. |
Topic | C/D College is a scam |
Nemu 07/21/21 2:17:03 PM #12 | Not inherently, but the money grubbing aspect of it certainly leaves room open for pointless degrees and scummy practices. |
Topic | Ocarina of Time is overrated |
Nemu 07/21/21 1:47:53 PM #16 | I've tried like four times, but I could never get into it. Wind Waker is much better despite its flaws. |
Topic | Do you think the Steam Deck will kill the switch? |
Nemu 07/21/21 1:42:30 PM #21 | Anyone who legitimately thinks they're sharing much market space has no idea what the SD even is supposed to be. |
Topic | Button that changes you from male to female or female to male |
Nemu 07/21/21 1:00:44 PM #25 | I'd try it out if it was repeatable, but no way if it's a one and done deal. |
Topic | A chimp vs a pit bull |
Nemu 07/21/21 10:38:38 AM #6 | Either chimp wins or they both die, epends where the pitbull bites in the first place. Chimp will definitely kill it, but dog could potentially fatally injure the chimp if it bites the right spot considering the chimp wouldn't have the ability to stop excessive bleeding. |
Topic | What happens when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object |
Nemu 07/20/21 7:53:55 PM #21 | Assuming these properties are innate characteristics imbued by some higher being and not simple observational descriptions, you'd likely get some kind of reality ending glitch. |
Topic | How, exactly, is Disney's commitment to more LGBTQIA+ characters pandering? |
Nemu 07/20/21 7:49:21 PM #9 | Corporate decisions for the sake of social brownie points with zero regard to the actual social movement is definitely pandering. Now, pandering doesn't inherently need to mean the results will be negative, but it's pandering nonetheless. Whether it's positive or negative depends entirely on the wider reception, whether it's a thoughtful implementation or mindless/lazy hackery to fill some checkboxes so the board members can pat themselves on the back. |
Topic | Amazon Denied a Worker Pregnancy Accommodations. Then She Miscarried. |
Nemu 07/20/21 7:08:50 PM #79 | Seems like just an opportunistic moneygrubber. That doesn't mean Amazon's overall policies don't need to change for employee physical and mental well-being, but there doesn't appear to be a single factor in the presented information that can correlate their policies to the miscarriage. |
Topic | I don't get what people see in traditional Zelda games. BOTW is so much better |
Nemu 07/19/21 4:34:45 PM #7 | The set dungeons with set puzzles set up is good. The DBs are really the weakest part of the game. What would be the best if a mixture of the two, more established dungeons with their own interior puzzles with variable solutions and better dungeon specific gimmicks to mimic the whole obtain a new item and allow more progression system. |
Topic | $5,000 or Unlimited Gas for your vehicle(s) |
Nemu 07/18/21 1:49:57 PM #6 | Unless you're literally never going to drive a single day of your life, there is zero reason to ever choose the money. For self-employed truckers, it'd probably be an extra million dollars over their career. |
Topic | Attn: Btits, how are you coping today? |
Nemu 07/18/21 10:57:46 AM #16 | Xethuminra posted... The effects of placing repetition & legitimacy on the word cope outside of its intended fringe usage.Cope isnt a fringe word in any way whatsoever. |
Topic | Off-duty Chicago Pig officer strikes, kills 9-year-old boy riding bike |
Nemu 07/18/21 9:54:28 AM #40 | The first few posts are fucking comical gold if the posters aren't just shitposting. The inability for some people to step back for two seconds is astounding. Fucking tragic situation regardless of whether the driver or the kid were in the wrong. |
Topic | Remember when we all thought Brewster and gyroids were coming to New Horizons? |
Nemu 07/18/21 9:47:01 AM #10 | I had expected a sizable E3 update, but it just came and went without a single mention. It seems really weird to drop support so early into the game's life cycle when they could have supported updates for years considering how much it sold. Kinda like SMM2 and not releasing any extra modes despite literally having more space programmed for them. |
Topic | Do you think the Steam Deck will be worth it? |
Nemu 07/17/21 12:36:27 PM #13 | For a very particular niche, seems like it might do great, but I don't think it'll see much wide appeal. The Switch is popular because it's Nintendo rather than just being a portable gaming machine. If portability was all people desired, the PSP wouldn't be the only handheld ever to take an actual bite into Nintendo's market. |
Topic | Woman with Down Syndrome wins $125 MILLION from WALMART for FIRING her!! |
Nemu 07/17/21 8:54:55 AM #24 | Something like giving the victim a reasonable amount of money and then forcing the corporation to donate millions to some kind of related charity chosen by the victim would be a better way of punishing the corporation. With the exclusion of some very particular circumstances, nobody needs millions in restitution from a job, but the corporations do need to feel some kind of burn. |
Topic | Just finished Invincible Season 1 (spoilers) |
Nemu 07/17/21 7:47:28 AM #9 | It was pretty good. Some of the annoying modern money-saving animation techniques kind of kill the mood here and there more so than other western series. The Amber plots conclusion was nonsensical in how it was portrayed up until that moment. There are several ways to have written it with the dismissal of his revelation feeling actually fair. Having looked at some summaries of what happens later in the comic, curious to see how much they adapt in later seasons because it seems to get really goofy later in the franchise. |
Topic | The way Nintendo handles amiibo is truly indefensible. |
Nemu 07/16/21 3:34:49 PM #15 | At this point, I think the damage is done, so even increased production would be unable to deter scalpers. It's their fault in the first place for not printing enough though. |
Topic | Microsoft would kill in the handheld market. |
Nemu 07/16/21 2:54:00 PM #32 | Generally, people buy expensive ass PCs to play these games at maximum quality, so the overlap between PC gamers and people who are willing to play lower quality versions on a small screen seems pretty low. If you're really into mobile gaming, you probably would already have a laptop for that. I see portable PCs selling, but only in a niche market. |
Topic | Is it immoral to pirate a fan translation of a game that never got released |
Nemu 07/16/21 2:29:48 PM #8 | If its legally available for direct purchase, purchasing the original version would be the upstanding thing to do even if you never touch it. If something has no legal direct path for purchase, I see no moral issue whatsoever. |
Topic | getting a steamdeck? |
Nemu 07/15/21 7:21:18 PM #14 | No. Playing portable games is a sacrifice, not a convenience. |
Topic | People stopped caring about that AI Dungeon game when they implemented anti-pedo |
Nemu 07/15/21 4:08:27 PM #19 | I've never understood to how to even have a proper narrative in that game in the first place. It seems to just randomly go off on nonsensical tangents that ignore previously established points no matter if you play seriously or just type in random shit. |
Topic | Are Nintendo the Apple of gaming? |
Nemu 07/15/21 2:50:33 PM #10 | No. They have some stupid practices, but they'd be a 3/10 while Apple is like a 7/10 in stupid practices. |
Topic | BREAKING: Valve announces Steam Deck handheld device |
Nemu 07/15/21 1:53:38 PM #67 | Seems like one of those things that looks like it'll be a good idea in the development phase, but it'll have some critical flaw that'll keep it from having mass appeal. |
Topic | 24-Year-Old Who Needed Double Lung Transplant Wishes He Had Taken COVID Vaccine |
Nemu 07/15/21 10:19:34 AM #2 | I mean it's good to get the vaccine, but this was a random freak case you realistically had little chance of happening to you if you're healthy. Now with delta and other mutations coming up, the chances of such might be increasing. |
